Most i have ever spent on a watch was $300 on a Citizen watch from Kay's Jewelers about 10 years ago.
Story is that I was engaged at the time (to my current wife) and had bought a $600 engagement ring for her. She broke off the engagement due to stress at the time over school, work, and life. So I took the ring back in hopes of just returning it but all they would do is what they called a broken engagement exchange. Basicly they took the ring back and I got a $300 watch and chain (necklace). I still have the watch somewhere and have considered getting it cleaned up an fixed but just never do.
Me and my wife got back together like 3 months later and ended up getting married a year after that but I told her I wasn't getting her another ring so she wore her mothers till we got married. Just got her a ring set she wanted for our 7 year anniversary lol.
