My friend busted one of his spinal discs ( the cartilage I think) from skating. Couldn't walk for weeks. Then had to be on crutches for several months. Yeah all bad. He (obviously) stopped after that and so did I... eventually the motivation went away since we mostly skated together and none of my other friends were in to it. Plus the whole is the health/fun ratio worth it.

The people who don't are just too lazy

If my kid hadn't gotten a free pair of diesel carrera skates, id probably not be skating again. My sis dropped them off to her one day. When I saw em I thought "man I gotta teach her how to skate",

Im into slalom style skating right now, love busting out the grapevine skills with me feet looking like they are completely flat on the rink. It just makes the moves look unreal. In reality im sliding the wheels around by biasing my weight but it doesn't look like it from a few feet away, let alone at speed.

I still snowboard when I can, but having just moved to Texas, I don't see much of that in the foreseeable future. lol

I recently bought a reissue Steve Caballero and Corey O'brien. A couple of my old favorites. I want to get a Marty Jiminez Bat Outta Hell and old Hosio Hammerhead too.

I guess I dig collecting stuff from my childhood. My wife calls me a hoarder. lol

Skateboarded untill I I had my elbow Reconstructed when I was in 3rd grade. I wasn't great but could ride up and down a 1/4. A well thrown stick onto the driveway ended all that. Then I was big into rollerskating. I did that form 4 grade till high school, everyday. High school sports got in the way, then life... Haven't been on a pair of skates in 15 years

I went through the phases, skateboarding, rollerblading, back to skateboarding, then snowboarding. Only thing I still do is snowboard, hence my forum name. I do plan on getting some hockey skates and learning to skate better on ice since I would like to start playing adult rec league hockey. Only problem right now is the start up cost of equipment.

I have a pair of K2s that I haven't used in a while. I just skated around and did a few jumps, no grinding. I also love the thought of going airborne with my skateboard, but I haven't learned to ollie. In fact, I was supposed to learn before yesterday. I challenged myself to learn how to ollie before my birthday, but failed. I do love boarding and everything that goes with it, I'm just not awesome at it!

Wish Christian hadn't gotten caught up in the dope. He was better and more fluid than Tony Hawk, and we all see how the Hawkman has done...
