I'm honestly just tired of the dry simpsons humor. I grew up watching and stopped after season 20. felt bored with it

      Angel (1999-2004)
      Bones (2005-current)

My all time favorite at the moment though is ......

Doctor Who (Originated in 1963 but I love the new release which started in 2005-current)

Edit: Since I didn't give my reasons the best I can say are these are the shows that have captured my attention the most. The only one I am starting to lose interest in is Bones but the rest I just love the feeling I got from watching them.
wanted to make sure i didn't miss an episode so i VIDEOtaped them, didn't trust dvr or a dvd recorder (had issues with both)

own both seasons on DVD now

Ooh, also... Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. Canadian show. Absolute genius. And like all good shows, cancelled WAY before its time.
That's actually nipping at the heels of Firefly for me, I think.

            thank you.

been watching breaking bad till walking dead starts up again.

they have good action, i don't really care for character development.

              - The Fresh Prince Always good for a laugh.

              - House Self explanatory. Maybe not. You have to hate and love a person like Dr. House with his arrogance.

              - Numb3rs Brings out the geek in me, and they manage to touch on real life everyday topics using math, science, and and good ol' fashion problem solving.

              - Martin Classic.

-Top Gear-I like the dry English humor and all the stuff they do and places they go
-Fast N Loud-What I watch when nothing else is on.
                -Sons of Anarchy-badass
-Burn Notice- like the whole spy's view of shit and how they do stuff
-Everybody Loves Raymond- probably funniest for me

I love burn notice, aside from the fact that the main character is a TERRIBLE actor (he really has a thick Boston accent... you hear it slip far too often), and I really can't stand Gabrielle Anwar. Plus, she's an English woman playing an Irish woman... who for whatever reason is pretending to be an American woman... and none of her accents are believable!
Bruce Campbell makes up for it all, though.

Yeah it was never one of those shows that I had to get home to watch but I preferred to watch it over some other things if I saw it on. Plus I thought it was different than the fifty cop/csi shows.

That's very true! The concept is different enough to be fresh, but relatable enough for a casual "cop show" fan to enjoy it. My mom is a big fan. She was watching it before I discovered it! She also watches every cop drama there is. (aside from all the HGTV crap, my mom has pretty good taste in TV! )

I honestly feel that if Bruce Campbell wasn't on Burn Notice, then I would probably not watch it. Good ol Ash Williams.

Also, just to add... I made this thread the other day when I started watching Firefly for the third time. I finished it yesterday.
                          I restarted it again today.

I've yet to actually see an episode of Firefly (*hides in corner*). I've only heard of it through the Big Bang Theory episode that mentions it. I read what you mentioned previously, but I still don't have an idea of what its like. Can you give me your take on it as a dedicated viewer of the show (I hate reading reviews, they are always biased towards whoever pays them enough, I digress).

So, I just want to hear a run down of the show and characters, and what, in your eyes, makes it a good show.

I've been meaning to give it a chance, I just haven't gotten that push to actually watch it.
