e-cutouts and throttle by wire based e-cutouts

I was watching a video of Jay-leno and the challenger Hellcat and I noticed something about dodges layout on that particular car. Now the hellcats exhause has an interesting setup as far as the exhaust.

The exhaust has a throttle by wire based e-cutout. This e-cutout based on the amount of throttle being asserted it not only helps aid in the power of the vehicle but it cuts down on the noise with driveability while maintaining its power levels.

Most e-cutouts I've seen only have an open or closed position one or the other not one that's in constant rotation with feedback from the driver when he mashed on the throttle...interesting. I think if more cars had this most people wouldn't be so ticket prone when the laws are around.

There have been a few 4 stroke bike manufacturers who have been using an ECU/PCM controlled exhaust throttle system for a few years. They aren't exactly a cutout mind you. They don't open up and dump exhaust threw a shorter exhaust tube, it merely controls the amount of exhaust gas flowing through the system for any given RPM.

I have a complete Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve assembly that I will be using on my Accord build. I am still in the process of calculating the flow for the initial operation. then it will require some fine tuning on the dyno to get everything dialed in.

These are pretty widely used on performance cars. Porsche uses them. The 3000GT had active exhaust, though I believe it was actually passive.

Seems pretty easy to implement...even with just our tps system just to show how simple of a circuit that could be made.
