So I was working yesterday morning at the Mobil convenience store down the street. 7am-3pm isnt my usual shift, I'm used to 3-11's.
Anyways... a dude brings a 12pk of Corona to the counter, puts it down and asks for a carton of Marlboro 27's.
I tell him we don't sell cartons, and 10 packs would just cost 10x a pack ($46.20). So he said he just wanted a pack then.
I ring up the pack and put it on top of the Corona. He proceeds to grab the beer and cigarettes and briskly walk away.
I wasn't having it.
I cocked my PP and followed him out the door. Once outside I tell him he better put the shit down and aimed at his head. He put down the shit.
He got all pissy that I was pointing a gun at him, so he pulled a knife.
Noticing that I had the advantage, I went inside (still pointing my gun at him) to call 911.
Just then my manager (Kash) walked over to him to find out whats going on.
Dude was then threatening Kash with the knife so I went back outside.
Kash isnt the type of guy to show restraint, so he comes to me and tells me to give him my gun. Knowing that the turnout would be messy, I refused to give it to him. The guy then took off running, got into his POS old black Mercedes, and sped off. We couldnt get the license plate.
When the cops got there they informed us he had just hit up two other stores right before us.
They brought in the crime scene unit, closed up the store, watched the surveillance and fingerprinted everything he touched.
The cops were kinda amazed I didnt shoot the guy, and the senior officer at the scene told me one time a guy pulled a knife on him from 20 feet away so he shot him in the chest and killed him.
The laws in this state would have allowed me to shoot and kill the guy legally.
All is fine now, though I was shaken up a bit after this happened. The guy said he'd be back for me, so if he's got a gun I may have to take his life.
We don't fuck around in AZ.
Anyone else work at a convenience store and got any horror stories to share?
