Well with my setup dependin on where the stuff goes to you can do this step by step. first go into mycomputer then under the hard drive disk icon, double click on local disc (C): then click on program files. Then click on the limewire folder not the the downloads folder just the regular limewire. double click on it. Then double click on the mylimewire downloads and your all set It should show everything that you downloaded. Btw did you download the basic version or the accelerated pro version?

back in the day when I used Limewire it was wrought with spyware and stuff that made my computer's security features go apeshit. I have since removed teh program.

I've never really had a problem with Limewire. Just keep up on the updates. I used to use WinMX, but that was shut down. Although I hear there is a patch available to get around that.

if the songs you dl won't even play in winamp or wmp, then you probably got a bug from a fake mp3. they usually screw up the rest of your mp3s, too.

dl and run AVG Free, maybe Adaware and HijackThis.

good luck. and stop using Limewire.

there are too many fake files there, and no moderation. use bittorrent (uTorrent, specifically), and indexing sites like www.torrentz.com, www.isohunt.com, etc.

also, there are tons of blogs that do nothing but upload music to free file hosts like rapidshare, megaupload, badongo, sendspace, etc. here's a huge list of sites. http://blogatron.50webs.com albumbase is a great searchable site (first on the list).

regardless of how you dl your stuff, you might want to install PeerGuardian to block gov't, MPAA/RIAA, and other dangerous IPs.

                          winmx has been shut down.
                          fasttrack network (kazaa) is gone

your best bet for music is using ares, or ed2k servers

                          ares is on www.ares.com

ed2k are edonkey servers. these are great. I'd recomend the client emule.

there is also the client dc++ for those that share. Many servers have minimum limit on how much you share to get acess.

Bittorent would be your best and fastest way of getting cd's instead of individual songs.

IRC is the same way. can be alittle difficult to use.

I'm having no problems using limewire. I have an older version though, and I never upgrade it.
