i listed my ps2 on ebay, along with all my games, the first night it was listed somebody bought it with the buy it now. turns out he was trying to get me to ship it before he paid. once i told him i wouldnt he quit replying to emails, so i checked my ebay and he was no longer a registered user. so i listed it again, it sold very quickly, like hours. same god damn thing. so this is more of a warning than a rant, guys, if you're selling on ebay be careful, do not ship anything til you have payment in your hands. and if you want to avoid this hassle, do not put a buy it now on your auction unless its aimed at a certain few people

fuckkkk that shit just happened to me to, and i had to wait a week to relist the fucking thing again.. i will no longer use the buy it now option because of that,, but now that i am hearing this is the reason why i am even more pissed.. at first i thought it was just somebody who was selling the same item and didnt want a potential buyer to by mine instead, thanks!!

Sorry for the bad luck. I just sold an old DVD player a few days via the buy it now option. The guy paypaled the money immediately. Guess I was lucky.

buy it now option is not a bad idea .. reason being this .. if you want to sell something quick and your not sure what to do in the case above . of whats been happening to you . put an immediate payment required so if someone click buy it now they are forced to pay instant threw your paypal . if they donot complete it auction will still be up on ebay .. thats what i sometimes do .. try that .. and yeah its happend to me alot of times .. theres to many foreign scammers out there .. and they choose ebay to try and get us .

i very seldom use the auction format, 99% of what i buy is buy it now. but w/ any large group of people you'll see scammers, just like here on cb7,it's gonna happen. commom sence in everything. if it's doesn't look right, it's not.

if you look at the feedback for that guy, its all logged on the same day, some of them within minutes of each other. funny thing, i just got another email from a scammer offering me $950 for my ps2.

maybe you should forwad the emails to the fbi. i had a guy in lome-togo try to buy my old civic sedan for $4200 that i wanted $2000 for, i was sent 4 cashiers checks for that amount. i called the bank on the cashiers check and the said it was an on going scam. i sent 2 to the bank w/ coppies of all the email back and forth and the other 2 to the local fbi office. i guess nothing was ever done about it, 'cause i have'nt heard from anyone since and thats been 2 years.
