well, lately i have been really depressed and wanting to die. i am bi-polar btw. i dont know if it is a mental thing but i am always in pain (chest pain, sharp pains in my arms and legs, etc.) nothing gets me out of this and i dont know what to do. i feel as if i am worthless and have no value to anyone. this shit is like makin my girlfriend depressed but i dont know what to do. can anyone help me?

sorry to ask on the boards but i dont like to burden people i see face to face with this.

cant really give ya specfic advice but maybe....u need a break from everything....maybe take a step bak.....kinda like a vacation from ur normal daily grind! or look at the good things in your life! i know you have em!! people that even think they dont nhave em ...really have em....rememeber that someone out there has it worst than you. So just embrace the good things...and enjoy life! take it one day at a time..and talk to ur close friends about it..they are not gonna have all the answers but they'll be there for you to listen and help you through this down time in ur life! hope this helps.

change it up. thats what i do.

find a new job, something in a different field. youll meet plenty of new ppl, will lead to new, different things to do to spend time. pick up a new hobby. if you feel your life is getting "stale" and its not how you want it to be, the only way to fix it is to "freshen" it up.

i would like to know what meds you were on?

i took zoloft for 6 months and it really, really helped.

also look at it this way, you have ur health, at least some type of job, a girlfriend, a cb7 and internet access.
some people have NONE of these things.

my health is iffy. i feel sick all the time. i have anger issues. wen i go home i will post up the meds i was on. all i know is they were strong and made me blow up all the time on people. because of this shit i broke my toe and my hand with anger. i agree change is good but my brain overworks itself into hating things at a fast pace and its hard to change. when i was younger i was the one that everyone picked on and now people fear me because of my issues.

Physical pain is often directly related to mental disorders.

If you feel like doctors don't help because all they want to do is give you medication then why not try some counselling. Talking to someone who isn't going to judge you can often be very helpful.

Bro maybe its time for a new beginning. I was the same way you where a year ago. I quit my job and found a another job that I love going to everyday I have more time to do things I like doing. I coach football and that makes me feel better because I am doing something positive in my life. I took zoloft for a while too but now that I started a new life and am a lot happier. Hopefully everything works out for you man God Bless!

I too am curious as to what meds you were on. I was having similar issues a while back. Easily angered, semi violent, feeling like I meant nothing to anyone, etc. Most of my family was on Zoloft and tried to get me on it for years but I always figured it would do nothing for me. I finally gave in and went to the doc to get a prescription for it and damn has it made a difference.

They say that anti-depressants can cause suicidal thoughts (which my brother has told me he has had in the past while on Zoloft) but I haven't experienced that yet, and hope I don't. I've heard it's more in adolescents than adults and I'm almost 30 so maybe I'll be lucky on that part.

If you were on Loritab/Lortab, whatever, that shit is the devil. For 2 months my life was HELL while on that medication. Ever since that, I refuse to take doctor prescribed medicine to adjust mood/behavior/mental things. My step-dad had the same effects while on the same medication.
