Do you guys think we should have a feedback forum where people can create a thread about how their experience with another member went?

Its kinda hard to search for vouches for people on here. Other boards have it and i am just throwing out an idea.

It could give people an idea of who to buy from and who to avoid being scammed by.

That kinda sounds like a good idea. But when you think about it so many people have sold even the smallest thing to other members, and with so many members that would take up a lot of space on the board. Then again I could be completely wrong about that. I get what you're saying about looking for vouche threads though.

The best thing I've seen yet is the iTrader feature that's built into the VBB code as an optional feature. Depends on what version is being used. I know 3.5's got it, as does 3.5.4. Dunno if it's on 3.0 or not. It's wicked cool tho. It ataches a trader rating on the side bar below everyone's s/n, so you don't have to go to a section or find a thread to research them, it's right there in their user info. Check out my profile on one of the Lightning boards I'm on.

Yeah but its like crazy long. Who wants to read through all that.

Not to mention the vouche threads fade into obscurity after like a week. A feedback forum is a great idea.

who wants to read through a whole forum full of threads of members feedbacks? its all the same shit. i say some kind of feedback thing should be incorporated into our profiles. hopefully that will come along with the update if deever decides to do it.

search tools work wonders... whether searching a single thread or a whole forum.

anyway i just made my own thread in the classifieds section, i can bring it up or refer to it whenever necessary

even if we sticky a feedback one its still going to get huge after 6 months.....

I have no problem finding peoples vouches....and if they dont have one then i read through the people to buy from thread......

not that hard.

There's a button that says, "Search this Thread" you click it while in the thread on people to buy from type in the name of the person you're looking for, and it searches the thread!

We allow vouch threads. That's about it. I could bring in some seller ratings, or make a forum... but all that will do is lead to flaming. One person will have a problem, and the next thing you know we'll have 6 page threads full of negative comments made by people that have NOTHING to do with that person.

It has been discussed in the past and has been deemed a bad idea.

Read the stickies in the Classifieds forum. Read them, and follow them. I have no sympathy for those that get scammed because they didn't take the proper measures to protect themselves. Just because someone has the same car as you doesn't mean they can be trusted. Just because 3 people have bought successfully doesn't mean that you, as the 4th, won't get scammed. However, when someone who is selling something falls on hard times and gets delayed, only to find a 6 page thread bashing them, I can assure you, they'll very likely get pissed and never send you what you paid for.
