    Computer HELP!

I reformatted my HD and re-installed windows, and now, I cant watch videos.

i've downloaded codec packs etc, along with direct x 9. but only AVI videos work. it seems that WMV videos play but it comes in really really dark and red is the only color that can be recognized.

    any help? please?

    they play but not correctly?

video drivers I would say, and then make sure your gamma settings are correct.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

well, I see a lot of stuff about wmv's being too dark, but they don't actually seem to relate to your problem, the entries i'm finding are about people complaining about wmp in general. One guy suggests importing the file into movie maker and brightening it and re-saving it, but...that's not a valid solution in this case.

I had a similiar problem with an nvidia card/driver release a while back, it required me to adjust the gamma slider, then adjust back to default. It was some sort of bug.

But outside of that, honestly, all I can recommend is uninstalling and reinstalling wmp, and going from there

here is one way to test something. open a video and if its real dark, while the video is still playing right click on the desktop and click on nvidia control panel, then you will see an option that says "video and television" click on that and then go back to the video and see if its back to normal.

soundz like you didn't think about reinstalling the drivers for your video card.
                              hmm
well it shouldn't be a problem with your video card.
next thing would be if your installation with windows was fucked.
                              but i seriuosly doubt that.

sooo. instead of using the software that came with the mobo lets get your video driver direct from the internet.

                              http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

                              direct link to nvidia drivers.
