Descendents/ALL

I just downloaded a file containing EVERYTING by them (nearly 1 gig compressed!). I'm going to eventually actually buy it all, since I love them way too much to cheat and steal their music.

For those that don't know the Descendents and ALL, they are two (one?) of the greatest punk bands EVER. They are credited with creating the pop-punk style, but they were never "pop" punk. They've never been on MTV as far as I know, and I don't think any major radio station would know who they are. They are basically the same band. ALL is just the Descendents with a different singer. When Milo, the singer of the Descendents, went to college, the other guys continued with other singers (currently Chad, my favorite). Rather than replace Milo, they just started a new band (ALL). Now BOTH bands are in existence.

Whenever ALL plays my area, Milo joins them on stage. I think he may live in Marlton NJ. That's what I hear anyway. I have yet to see them live!

Anyway, there's my rant. If you like punk, check out these guys. Actually, if you're really a fan of punk, this should be nothing new to you! Enjoy.

they are really good bands...alot like operation ivy. i was into punk for a while back in the day when i was like 12-15. its fun music.. but i just took it a lil too far w/ the qoute on qoute lifestyle. it was haggard. neway my favorite punk band is probly the circle jerks. very fun music to listen to.

Ive only touched a lil bit on ALL but Descendents are one of my fav Punk bands. Somery has to be my fav album for sure.

I have to download that file again... The only thing I have by either band now is Everything Sucks (I consider that to be the best they've done). My Problematic CD is scratched to hell.

Yea everything sucks is a classic as well. I have that on tape somewhere back home lol

The thing i like about them is that when im depressed or in a bad mood and i dont wanna listen to metal ill put somery on and it gets me all up again. Just really good upbeat punk!

They had a knack for singing about the most day to day things but making it so special.

You my man have good taste.

I was reading a post of yours on metal and was suprised at some of the more obscure groups you listen to like Cynic...not many people i know listen to them lmao....so thats pretty cool right there.

Holy crap, you know Cynic! I never knew ANYONE that knew of them that didn't learn about them from me!

I met them at my local record store back in 94 or 95. It was Cynic, Sinister, and Cannibal Corpse... just there to meet people and sign stuff. I walked in, walked up to one of the CC guys, and asked "where are the guys from Cynic?" I never much cared for CC. The guys in Cynic were all a bunch of jazz-loving hippie types... it was awesome. Really cool guys, and their music is amazing!

But yeah, the Descendents are simply amazing. Just by reading the lyrics and listening to Milo sing, I almost feel like I know them. It's weird.

yea lolz i know cynic. Well, i dont know them lol but ive rocked them for a year now.

My friend Joe back home turned me on to them, and pretty much everything metal.

I usually stray towards the more heavy gruesome stuff like 80's slayer, CC, Death(OMFG they rule lol) Morbid Angel, etc.

But then groups like Cynic are just simply amazing. The musicianship is just unmatched.

Death is close, just a different format i suppose but very very technical.

But yea i know what your talking about when it comes to reading the lyrics and feeling them.

Ive never been to Cali but when i listen to Sublime and read the lyrics he paints such a colorfull picture of day to day life in LB that i almost feel like ive been there
