But the Officer was nice and dropped it to 74mph, something about it being under 10mph above the speed limit.

The NJ turnpike is strict, you just gotta know where to speed.
From Exit 4-6 they got troopers everywhere.
From 6 on, you're pretty much set, just dont drive like an ass.
I do 80mph all day on the turnpike ...

The roads are silky smooth so its gonna feel like the car is barely moving with a say...55mph or 65mph speed limit. And the Autobahn has had less accidents then some of the US highways with speed limit. Maybe the way Europe do things or the way they test drivers contribute.

I know that in Toronto, ppl drive very fast on the highways...and the police don't mind as long as u r not being an a$$ about it...

the rule is (but not the law): go with traffic....so if traffic is going fast...most ppl do...and those who don't will just get in the way of traffic flow and probably get some rude stares...

on the highways, i have (as responsibly as possible) driven well over 100mph (160km/h) a lot of the time, and i've had RCMP cars just rush past me like i wasn't even speeding... ...dang their V8's

As previously stated, the Autobahn has fewer accidents a year than they U.S. does. It's designed a HELL of a lot better than U.S. highways. Cops do patrol the Autobahn as well. If you don't signal, you will most likely get pulled over. They are VERY strict with driving laws on the Autobahn. It's not a chaotic highway with people doing 150 MPH+ acting like idiots; people are usually more responsible and courteous compared to U.S. drivers. History Channel owns!!!!

Anyway, I don't think that passing a regulated speed limit on the entire Autobahn is going to happen. They may just extend the zones in the cities where traffic is absolutely horrendous. My 2 cents.
