Well, as some of you might know, I am one of the most Anti-Microsoft people on the board. but i came across this today, and i must say, im super impressed.

Its things like this that make you want to live longer, just to see new technologies.

The last gaming system i bought was N64, so iv never really had the experience with Xbox. I got my Ps2 for free last year.

i hate microsoft because they are anti-open source....I like microsoft because you have a lot of versatility and compatibility.

but Linux has endless ability.

the 360 is freakin sweet though

I can think of so many possibilities for a product like this, Google wont have a chance against Microsoft if this takes off...But i could see Apple releasing something similar. In white.

My predictions:

MS will release this in a few sizes: Ridiculously Small, Small, and Adequate.
It will come with a dizzying array of features, none of which quite do what most people want.
There will be huge body of really cool functionality forbidden or artificially limited due to a draconian DRM implementation.
It will also ship with a multiplicity of 3rd party apps which: are buggy, stupid, ugly, get in the way, and are hard to delete.

7 years from now there will still be a fleet of unfinished un-maintained projects for this listed on SourceForge.
Despite the failings of the Linux hack, it will still be more enjoyable to use for the simple fact that it does not have craplets or DRM

Then Apple will release a comparable product line… coming in three sizes: Acceptable, Big, and “Just showing off”.
It have less features, cost more, and come with no 3rd party apps, but will be bundled with an invisible SDK instead.
It will also, on first connecting on my home Mac OS network, irretrievably delete every file on my Firewire drives.

Oh… just one more thing: It will work with all the existing Apple products seamlessly… except my Cube which will have some bizarre passive aggressive bug.
