i swear to god, i didn't know anyone but tool made music/songs

now i'm convinced that no one but tool cares about making music/songs

seriously though, drummers always get the shaft but if you really pay attention to some of the good ones (like danny carey from tool) then you'll see that without a good drummer, a great band becomes shit.

at the tool concert i went to in may, that's all i did was watc danny do his thing. freaking awesome. i have a lot of respect for good drummers.

the beat is what gets your hear pumping no matter what type of music you're listening to.

there is a reason the drums are gone or muted in "easy listening" songs.

              Thats a pretty ignorant statement.

Sure Danny Carey is good, ive watched videos of him countless times online. Id love to see TOOL in concert.

However, he isnt the only drummer in this universe that deserves attention. Im sure Travis barker could hold his own with him if it came to it. They just have two totally different styles of playing.

And then theres Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Nick Mason(one of my fav drummers), of course Neil Pert, Moon, Dave Lombardo, Richard Christy, Mike Smith, Chad Smith, Vinny Paul, Tommy Aldridge and the list goes on.

Thats not counting the amazing drummers out of South America that youve probably never heard of.

do me a favor, just go over it again and find where i said that there weren't other quality drummers. actually, i only called Danney Carey ONE of the good ones. you're just trying to be antagonistic and you lost.

                http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/page..._drummers.html

he's ranked in the top 10 there, and since tool is NOT a media/radio darling and since because most of the other top drummers consider tool's count the oddest and most difficult to learn, a case could be made that he's the most talented/technical/whatever drummer.

but again, never ONCE said or even alluded to him being the ONLY good drummer.

anyone who knows a thing about drumming or music will tell you that tool has a top-notch drummer.

adam jones is a beast in the guitar world. maynard is just god. and justin chancellor can hold his own with the best bassists, although he's not considered the best or one of the best, just a very talented bass player.

and you should see them in person. like i said, danny is worth the ticket price alone. i was a few rows back in may but will get front row. he threw out 2 sets of drumsticks and maynard through a frisbee.
