Looking for a Certain Type of Material

    Must be Non-Flamable
    Able to resit heating up
    Not hold moisture
    Have some cushion.

Sort if like That black layer of "stuff" that goes on the inside of the firewall.

Is there a name of that certain material?

What are you going to be using this for?

and how flexible does it have to be?

The first thing that came to my mind was Carbonex (I think thats what its called) Basically its what they make the flameretardent suits for racers out of.

They have this black stuff you spray under your car for protection in the winter time. Its to prevent corrosion and its pretty stout material. The only other thing i cant think of is rhino lining. That stuff is tough! Only downfall is that it will add a significant amount of weight.

thats what I was thinking of too. Maybe they use different materials, but I was thinking of Nomex.

                  your probably right.
I worked for a co. that made those type of suits and they called them carbonex but it might have just been their name for them.

well im going to be usng it to wrap my ECU in.

With all the shit under my dash, there is no room for that plate that the ECU bolts on to, and then that plate bolts onto the body. So i just wanna wrap the ECU in that, and then just slide a metal plate over it to protect it from passengers feet and whatever i throw down there

Then what's all this "non flammable" jazz?

Your interior is a rather flammable place....

There's no need for anything. Just both ecu plates on and shove it under the carpet.

That's how I roll. I've never had a problem and you'd never know that I've messed with the ecu.

Yeah Eric has to do the same thing in his Teg since the JDM ecu doesn't fit in the USDM spot

either that or use bubble wrap and call it a day.
