got a ticket

so I saw some of my homeboys from cb7tuner saturday night at the meet spots and i was whipping some donuts in my truck in the parking lot and i slid into a parking spot and got out to find an undercover cop behind me with his lights on

he gave me a ticket for "improper start"

which is WAAYY better than reckless endangerment or some shit.

but my question is, can a police officer give you a ticket in a PARKING LOT? its not government road, its private property.


and im thinking about asking for adjudification wir\thheld in court since i havent had a ticket in a year, and i was in a wet parking lot with a rwd truck

its hard to get a proper sstart with anything rwd with no wieght in the back when its wet

But i have heard of people getting tickets when its snowing out and they go out to mess around in a parking lot, so i dunno

Sometimes on my way home from work when the sun is high up in the sky, a police car is parked in a private driveway as he scans incoming vehicles. Then not too much farther, 2 other cop cars were waiting to pull over those caught speeding. Once again, I doubt the cop asked the permission to park in the driveway.

dude, do you REALLY think you're gonna win? cmon the judge will just laugh at you. I mean you were in the wrong, luckily the cop didn't rip you a new one with reckless driving or something. Plus, what's your record like? you know they could look all that shit up and make a logical assumption based on that info.

improper start??? wtf does that mean? I've heard of excessive acceleration...but improper start?

I've heard several things...here's my take
if you're on private prop they can't give you a ticket...unless the owner requests...

if that is true then if it is marked as no tresspassing then they can...if the owner has made a request in advance to watch their property then they could too...something along that line.



Then I've heard that if it's a business then they can...

and I've of course heard they can't do anything so long as you're on private property.

You were improperly operating a motor vehicle. That IS in their jurisdiction, private property or not. I'd just pay the fine and not fight it. If you fight it, the judge can give you a heftier charge based on the cop's testimony. If I were the judge, I would.
