Don't know about Florida, but in AZ, they don't have jurisdiction over private property, unless expressly granted so by the owner of that property.

That is why in accidents on private property, they don't place fault, they simply file a report so that insurance companies know that something DID actually happen there, and they aren't being defrauded by the insured.

But it gets tricky, because many businesses have given the cops permission in the past, and won't get involved on your side.

Plus, you were operating your vehicle improperly, as usual, and you deserve the greater punishment, but the guy cut you a break.

In most states, bikes operate under the same rules and restrictions as cars. Including speeding.

Don't know about any other state, but in AZ it is illegal to ride a bike on a sidewalk. It is a sideWALK, not a sideRIDE.

I didn't get one when I wrecked my old CB7 I had. I was in a shopping plaza parking lot at the time. Get this: the date I had my accident was April 1, 2005 (April Fool's Day). Ain't that a bitch?? Anyways, I ended up totaling the woman's car, which was a Jaguar. My insurance was cancelled because the company said I was high-risk (I was 20 years old at the time).

I hit 37mph once on my pedal bike. That was fun! My friend was right next to me the whole time. Unfortunately, he got hit in the face by a dragon fly, lol.

i would of gave you a ticket regardless for being a dumbshit for showing off with a pos truck on the parking lot.

                      Same law in Va.

You would get a ticket for riding on the sidewalk. Now back on topic for me.

Dave, No one will believe you didn't mean to do it. Your truck is automatic, I believe, so you can't say that you are bad with a clutch. I drive a Dakota with roughly 240 hp and a posi rear end, and I can control mine just fine on snow or rain. I have a hard time believing you can't.

Honestly, just pay the ticket and be glad it wasn't worse. (Worse ticket, worse cop, could have flipped the truck, could have broke the truck, could have hurt someone, could have hurt yourself) The first time you break something on that truck, you're going to hate it. It's not as cheap to repair as your little Honda man. Take care of it, follow the laws as best you can, and you won't have any trouble.

I think he'd have to check with local (state) law, since he's not operating on the public road.

What if it was *his* private property?

LOL! I remember someone locally here being in the paper once. He was going like 60 in a 45. Obviously, it was a badass bike with lots of gears, and he was a seasoned rider, but still. I remember them talking about how motorists were happy, because he was going faster than they were.
