Could debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show
Subaru Australia Managing Director Nick Senior has revealed some new details about the 2015 WRX.
Speaking to Motoring, Senior said "I think the real DNA of WRX over the time has been its driving credentials, and I know certainly from the factory point of view, the driving experience of the new WRX was paramount." He added that he's already driven the model and "it will not disappoint" existing customers despite being designed to appeal to a wider audience.
Senior also confirmed a high-performance WRX STI is under development and will likely be introduced a "couple of months" after the standard WRX goes on sale in early 2014.
As we have previously reported, the 2015 Subaru WRX is expected to be introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops at least 265 bhp (198 kW). The WRX STI should also use the same engine but have an increased output of at least 305 bhp (227 kW).
