Straight Success : GM LS Engine Build

This is where I will be documenting my 1998 Chevrolet S10 LS Extended Cab build for all the haters.

This truck will be built in phases. See below...

    BUILD SPECS:
    • Engine
      - 2002 or newer 6.0 Liter V8 - LQ9
    • Transmission
      - 4L60E
    • Front Suspension
      - TBD
    • Rear Suspension
      - TBD
    • Rear End
      - TBD
    • Front Brakes
      - TBD
    • Rear Brakes
      - TBD
    • Wheels
      - Secret For Now
    • Interior
      - TBD
    • Miscellaneous
      - TBD

    PHASES:

PHASE I - Engine Tune Up / Refresh
    PHASE II - Truck Disassembly
PHASE III - Engine / Transmission / Rear End Installation
PHASE IV - Suspension & Brakes
    PHASE V - Truck Reassembly
PHASE VI - Wheels / Interior / Miscellaneous

...and, this is what I'm starting with. It's kinda clean for a 21/22 year old truck at this point. There's some surface rust here and there (not rotted through anywhere) on the frame, but nothing that will hinder our progress. Stay tuned.

Really bad rod knock/spun bearing in the 4.3L V6.

Thanks. I'll be documented the build. I'll add the link in the first post.

Oops, haven't checked the 'other' MRT section in a good while. I was looking forward to the progress on your S10; I've been a fan of these things since high school. So have you got the long block in hand already?

Not yet. I'll be starting my progress in the new year. I figure by February/March 2020 I'll have a new video up showcasing the engine and accessories, so subscribe and stay tuned in. It's going to be a fun wild ride, and things I learned from my mild CB7 build should make me that much more sharper.
