    accord vs Fit

Funny how i heard them to be considered as a sports car.

well story begins at work where both my buddy with the Fit and I work..
Says he wants to run for the hell of it. I agree to it.
After work i warmed up my car for about 10 minutes and waited till he got out the next 20 minutes.
Next thing i know his car in the lot was moving..haha i was like wth!? i didn't even see him walk to it!...but the guy doesn't warm it up so i just followed.
Got out of the work lot...passed a light since it didn't turn red for us...so we decide to stop on the middle of the road side by side..

He gives 3 honks while both of us are at 0...3rd honk comes by...and he guns it right away....i gun next and im goin but my tires are squealing in 1st gear and im passing him already while squealing. Slammed it into 2nd, and ahh man..it sounded awful like my engine got hit hard or tranny or somthing...not grinding though. But soon as i hit my 2nd gear...i started pullin on him harder to where im about a car ahead of him and still pulling..hit 3rd...and im already about i guess 4 cars.Tahaha it's nothing to be braggin since he was an auto and claims he's pushing about 98-109 hp..but what got me is that he thought i was only pushing about 110-115 hp haha. IDK where he got that from but daaaang i probably wouldn't wanna go against his ass when he goes k20 sometime soon . But i give props for his Fit...it looks pretty good..new wheels and a lip..not bad. Big eyes though heh.

im stealing them from you then haha would they fit in ours?

Fits are slow as balls. They handle decently (better than I'd expect with that rear suspension!). They're the Civic replacement, as the Civic has moved up to an Accord-sized car (a new Civic today is what the Accord was back in the early 90s... similar weight, similar power, similar luxury).

The Fit is fairly light by today's standards. It's fuel efficient. It's comfortable and VERY well laid out inside. It can "fit" a TON of stuff inside as well! uslspct's Fit carried my new A20A back to my house.

They can be made fast. The Jackson Racing supercharger kit that is available can make them pretty potent little cars. But yeah, they're "youthful" cars... not sporty cars.

In a test, a Fit DID do a lane change faster than a new Corvette, though!

If you think the 1.5 VTEC fits are slow , try the 1.3 I-DSi with 7-speed CVT

Oh and yeah 1.5 Vtec gets the 7-speed CVT also.

It runs the quarter mile in the high-16 second range. The engine probably has some design elements of the K series, so it may respond well to bolt-ons. It probably wouldn't take much to make a Fit faster than a stock-ish CB7!

Just curiouse, but why would you get a fit? They look like a really crappy chevy Aveo! Ive seen a nice fit in Honda Tuning, but only couse it had a K20. I dont mean to talk down on them, but if i wanted a tiny little economy car, id just buy a civic.

They have potencial with the weight-to-horsepower ratio, but you gotta really like driving an astetically un-appealing car.

In my opinion, id ratherput a turbo f22 in a Geo Metro.

                Good kill

power to weight ratio, a very nice thing . We were talkin bout the swap at work the other day. Y not use the K24? same mounts from my understanding, do the k20 head swap and the rsxS trans an u got a beast! not to mention with sum minor internal upgrades to the k24 before stuffing it in. It'd be a beast!

tahaha yeah... i told that to the guy with the Fit but he says the k24 would be too big..and that the k20 can hardly fit in...but idk...that's what he says.

Because it is bigger than a Civic hatchback, has way more luxury, and better materials and build quality, gets similar MPG, is safer, and is about as fast as the high MPG versions of the Civic hatch.

The Fit is not a car that you get in and think "oh wow, what a cheap little car." They are VERY nice for their price point, and not everything is about acceleration numbers.

Honestly, with the weight of the Fit, it wouldn't really need the torque, and the extra revability of the K20 with the low gearing would probably make it a lot more fun to drive.

I know not everythings about goin fast, I work on those lil things when thay come in at the dealership. for the record make sure u get the wire recall done if u havent yet . for the price they r nice but I still prefer the early 90's cars. my preference an i dont think the k24 is much bigger but idk much on k's
