ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    "super red putty" filler

i stripped most of the chrome off of my top grille piece and i spent about two hours sanding out all the craters. the whole thing isnt completely smooth and level. how much longer do i have to keep sanding until i apply the putty?

clean it out down to the plastic....... fill it in with several small layers of bondo/ super red putty sanding smooth between each until its even with the rest of the surface (be patient and take your time)

i stripped everything down when i cleaned mine up, i would personally recomend you do the same. however most people would just pay the 10$ for a new one unless your modifying yours.

            good luck

Use 80 grit. That will allow the putty to grab on well to the plastic and it will sand it down alot faster.

so after i shoot a few coats of primer, dry then sand down w/ 300 and 400?
if so, how long do i sand it w/ each grit?

i would use 320 and only sand it down until it is all smooth. Then you can put your paint on it.

Until it is smooth, Any imperfections in the primer will show through in the paint.
BTW personally I thing 80 grit is a bit harsh, I would use 120 grit

I would go with 120 aswell, U don't want to rough it too much. Depending on the primer you might want to use an adhesive promoter (like bulldog), you can pick it up at an auto parts store that sells paint. Follow the directions, take your time and right once, shoot your primer with a couple real light coats first. If your using a filler primer, let it cure for at least 24hrs before sanding. Good luck
