ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Eliminating clock dimmer?

Is it possible to keep the dash clock at full brightness, so it doesn't dim with parking/headlights on?

Never thought about it, but thinking about it, if you could fool the system and make it think the lights arent on when they are... it should work...

I'm just wondering if maybe one of the wires might be the dimmer, and that wire could be eliminated and keep it lit at normal/lights off brightness.

It's possible, you just need to figure out which wire controls it. Anyone got the schematic?

Yes one of the wires is for the dimmer on the clock, maybe use a voltmeter to figure out which one it is.

yeah, just disconnect the DIM wire from the clock. you can find it by testing with a meter, or some variations of the clock actually have the pinout printed on it. otherwise i can look when i get home.

I don't know why you would want to do this honestly.
                    wat?

Mine gets extremely dim for some reason.
More so than other CB's I've been in.

During the day if my lights are on, the clock is nonexistant.
During the night, if I'm not in COMPLETE darkness, I can't see my clock.

Yeah, it's the red/black wire. I didn't cut the wire, I cut the prong off the clock itself, harder to do, but I didn't want to start cutting wires.

i was thinking bout this too. i always have my parks on during the day, and mines way dim, also. i want to do dis, but instead, hook a switch inline, so that when it is dark out, just flip the switch to dim it. i gotz Astgmatizm too, and i live in a ruraL no street lights.
                          you'll love my nuts!
