ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Some Knowledge On Lowering My CB7 (Noob)

Would it be wise to just buy Lowering springs and add to my stock Shocks?

i spoke to the Auto.Pro Guy and told me i could spend about 120 and get a 1.25inch Dropp which is what i want to avoid the major issues (New tires every year, chamber kit, car start shaking etc)

You could but your stock struts will probably low quickly. He was right also in telling you that with that amount of a drop, you wont need a camber kit, and therefore you wont get tht uneven wear on your tires. I say save up and grab yourself a set of struts.

to do a proper drop, you need:

        Springs or coilovers
Struts Or coilovers already has them built in like tien
        camber kit

that will keep you from going through the rubber and it will set you strait.

strut bars are optional, they do help the rigidity of the frame though

yeah, id say anything less than 1.5 inches you wouldn't need a camber kit.
            so you should be okay

A chamber kit straightens the wheels so you dont get the inner wear on the tires.. without a chamber kit the tires when a car is dropped are slanted which causes the inner wear on the tire.. and a camber kit straightens the wheels

We are on the same boat dude. Aftermarket springs and stock shocks literally become a boat ride. It'll seem okay at first, but after a few months the stock shocks will blow.

                        Saving up for coilovers now

If i could do it all over again Id order the progress springs agx struts ( the non adj ones) and a progress rear sway bar. Oh and Id also thro the 17-18 inch rims on it too with nitto neos. There is a thread on that build it turned .94 G's on the skid lateral. you should search for it.

By struts I mean "shocks." You dont need strut bars, sway bars none of that stuff. Those are extras which can increase handling perfomance and rigidity, but are not necessary when you just want to drop the car. The reason you want aftermarket struts is because these new springs will be more agressive than your stock ones and spring rates will be different. This means that they will wear out your stock struts much faster than they would wear with OEM struts. Camber kit dont even worry about it, Id say after 2 inches then you would want to consider getting a camber kit.
