ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    tinted light ?'s

ive been reading a lot of posts about tail lights and which look cool and and fairly cheap but i have some questions about one post i read where he/she mentioned using layers of window tint to cover the tail lights.

    i want to know:
are they going to tear and peel over time like some window tints do? i like the look of darkened lights but im not so sure about tears or rips after a few months.

also, would it be possible (and not illegal) to tint the headlights?

Im pretty sure its illegal to tint either. It makes them very hard to see. Plus why would you tint your head lights? The point of them is to be brighter so you can see. Tinting them would do the opposite lol. I dont think they peel at least i have never seen it before.

the best way to tint tail lights is to use a body shop grade clearcoat, with a little bit of black in it to darken it up a little. This type of clearcoat is catalyzed, can be sanded and buffed, and will hold up to harmful UV rays.

did you add the night shade on the inside or outside of the signal light?
is it the signal lights on the bumper or the corner signal light, which you tinted?

note about the night shades with the tail lights... if you want to black them out then its not hard at all but if u want to just smoke them out alittle apply very thinnn coat and then spray a clear coat to give them a gloss.. mine are blacked out but i havnt put the clear coat so they look alittle dull

even blacked out my bumper lights.....yes i know tires are bad i already replaced them lol old picture
edit* you can find vht products at advance auto parts, pep boys... autozone i dont think they carry that brand i got mine at advance auto parts =]

Vht Night shades is great, thats what i used on my lights. That dupli color clear is good but it comes out kind of dull.unless you buff it afterwards. but i used an automotive clearcoat, ppg shopline to be exact. i sprayed 3 coats of clear on mine this is how they came out.

to the OP, i hope youre planning for red lights in your tails cause in your headlights, the police will pull you over in a heartbeat.

Also be kinda careful about how dark you go on the front and back lights cause last night one of my CB7 friends got pulled over by TPD for having his taillights too dark.
