ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

That's what I had in mind. I saw a ton at my local JY. Pick up some 90-91 cb7 headlights. If they're cleaner replace mine and use my old ones to retrofit. Also pickin up some ES300 fogs i saw.

I agree with him, I've seen the lexus projectors and they're not even worth the time in getting them. If they are HID then that's a different story. But being in a junkyard I doubt they are. What I found to be a cheap and decent setup is what new_beginnings was saying look for any early to mid 90's bmw 3, 5, and 7 series that has projectors. They are a 9006 projector and have water clear lenses so the output is nice. They are also very easy to mount into a custom application. The bmw projectors also accept hid kits very well.

beam pattern isnt great on them. They were designed for halogen and not hids. I seen them in person. the output is ok but light still isnt focaused that great. Its not worth it.

at least get the e46 ones in the for sale forum.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

              Retro!

just as good as oem defeats the purpose of retrofitting to projectors imo.

Rob, he means the look of the headlight looks like an oem equipped car if you looked at the actaul headlight, not the light output. and to whoever said the bmw projectors werent tht great, well these are the 9006 projectors I was talking about with rebased d2s philips bulbs, pretty damn good results.

not all projectors that were halogen and retroed with hids had that good of results. Ill tell you though everytime that stupid lexus with hids comes down my street I hate it. it glares ALOT.

you ever seen a integra with projectors with hids? the glare from those is actually a tad better than the lexus.

I got set of supra lights for the free so I used the small projetors for my retrofit. They turned out looking good but the H3 buld just don't put out enough light when I drive outside the city limits at night. My fogs helped this a bit but the light output just isn't what it should be. I've personally been thinking about going with a set from a nissan or infiniti. I have noticed them around town at night they seem to have pretty good light output. I do know that the Acura one are damn good though and the look kick ass when you get done.

Yeah, the small h3 projector in the supra is just a driving/fog light. But I have tsx projectors retro'd in mine and tsx's are among the bottom of the performance scale of HID projectors, yet they are still more than enough for me, about 100x better than my stock halogen lights. If you want all out performance, pick up some s2k or TL projectors. TL's you will also get a high beam function, and with the s2k you will get unbelievable amounts of width.

Go 55watt you wont be dissapointed.

They have tsx-r's now which are nice. and soon they are comming out with the s2k-r.

but with my fx35 retro, when i went 55 watts it was the best thing ever!

hmm.... so do it right or do it twice right? So either mid 90's bmw or tsx. The Bimmer option souds good. And from what i'm reading w/ an HID kit light output should be good?
