ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Customize the DRL's? Blackhouse + HID?

Has anyone done it? I know it's not really worth it but if any has done it can they post some pictures? The blackhouse would make more sense as would even out the colour between the headlight and DRL.

Are you talking about blackhousing your headlights and using HIDs as your DRLs?

HIDs wont work as DRL's will they?

What if you converted your high beam 9005s to 9006 plugs and just ran with them on as your DRL's, but they'd just look like your low beam headlights are on, but in the high beam spot.

DRL's you know, on the side, part yellow, part flashing when turning.
Nah I'd like to keep my highs as highs and lows as lows. :P

DRLs are daytime running lights...they are in your high beam spot, and are
your high beams at around half intensity....

If you put hids in them they will no longer work as DRLs.

So what exactly are you asking? Do you want to change your DRLs from the high beam spot to the turn signal spot? And then run hids in the high beams??

How would we go to doing DRL's?

I have the Nokya high beams and i would love to run them at half its intensity at all times.

                        What's this then?...
FIY, no lights ever come on automatically which I believe they are supposed too.
I get that light, low beam, then high beam, nothing else.

DRL or driving lights found on all Canadian cars 1990 and up on most cars are the high beam bulbs running at half power. Unless you rewire your headlight system, it can't be done.

I wouldn't bother if i were you. Maybe just hook up your park lights or something to light up while the ignition is on

Would I get pulled over for just running the side lights at day time? Or just run low beams to be safe?

How much would it be to fix this approx? Too much? Rewire? How Hard?

                            So many questions arrggghh!

No, running park lights or low beams is 100% good, you won't have any issues!
In fact, i imported a car that didn't have the drl, so during the out of country inspection, the shop doing the work hooked up park light s with my ignition to make it legal
