ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    lowering advice....i need it

Hey you guys, i was thinking about how i was going to lower my ( future as in 3 weeks ) car, and just wanted to know others' opinions on dropping it. What do you guys consider TOO low for a place that rains hard. Thanks

Yeah too low doesn't become a problem unless you have no water guard under the engine WITH exposed o2 sensor wires, or a CAI with no bypass valve. I mean hydroplaning could be an issue, but only at higher speeds.

I think anything over 2" looks broken... Nothing is funnier than seeing some ricer kid crabwalking over speed bumps and crawling over bumpy roads because he doesn't want to damage his slammed rusty beater.

Lower your car to increase its handling ability, not make it look like junior got ahold of Grandma's Accord and slapped every ebay part he could find on it. A good set of springs, such as H&R Race, paired with a good set of shocks, like Koni Yellows... along with a full refresh or upgrade of all suspension bushings... will make the car feel like a sports car. Slam it to the ground, and it'll be impractical to drive, uncomfortable to drive, and the only people that will appreciate how it looks will be other ricers.

I'm on sprint springs and koni str struts up front (skunk 2 in the back) that give me a 2.5 drop which is low, but not that low. Handles like a dream. I can take most bumps with no problem. Everyone and there mom wants to slam there car, but it just not functional for a daily driver, especially when you come into certain situations on the road where you can't avoid everything on the road. don't be like everyone else wanting to be in the slammed crowd.

The other option is to buy adjustable suspension.
Ride quality will not be what it could be with a whole drop spring- but you would be able to have your ride both ways.

I would go into the archives of the Suspension Forum and read about shock/strut combo's and their reviews- and then start looking for what it is you want within your budget.

I have seen so many people come into the scene and waste their money, buying the first thing they find in their price range- and after install finding out they could have bought a lot better quality- had they been informed.

u looking for performance or you want it for looks. either way its your ride you have to look at it everyday drive it so who cares what people think. could always go with adjustables so if you dont like the ride you can always slam that shit or not. and who really cares what people other than "ricers" will appreciate once again if you appreciate it than thats all that matters. IMO do what you do and do it with style. GONE

Just be sure to keep safety in mind, above all else. It doesn't matter how cool your car looks... nobody looks cool wrapped around a tree.

KYB doesn't offer anything that can handle a high spring rate, or a drop greater than 1.5".
