ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Relay harness for HID kit?

Hey everyone, i was thinking about getting the 55 watt 6000k ddm tuning hid kit but i was wondering if i would need the relay harness? Thanks in advance!

I got the 35 watt kit from them and I went with the relay harness. For the price it's better to be safe rather than sorry. Their harness is a little short for our cars though, I would recommend getting a longer one from another company maybe.

Most definitely, can't hurt at all using a relay. Nothing sucks more than replacing all of your wiring due to them getting roasted.

I get my harnesses from www.3bspecialties.com, and I'm very happy with their product, and their price. Only $15 last I checked. They were very good with customer service, too. Nice guys.

I would ALWAYS run an auxiliary harness with HIDs. I'm told the newer systems don't draw power like the old ones do (like my old OEM BMW setup...), but as mike said, better safe than sorry. $15 and a 5 minute hookup is a LOT better than replacing an entire OEM wire harness!

Yea I had issues with overloading the stock headlight circuits when turning on my HID's. Built and installed a relay harness in a couple hours, the HID's function flawlessly now. Definably a good idea. I am running the 35w DDM as well.

The said relay comes with an in-line fuse. I blew said fuse the other day. Had I not had that relay/fuse, there's no telling what would've happened. OEM wiring is ok but after 20 years or so, it tends to not be at it's best.

Exactly. The chances of damage may be slim, but the hassle and potential expense of that damage SERIOUSLY outweighs the cost and effort of installing a simple $15 auxiliary harness. It will function exactly the same, though you'll have one more harness to hide (or not... I don't care about that in my car...)

Okay, im for sure getting a harness then. The little extra cash seems to be well worth it. Thanks everyone!
