ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It depends how bad the rust is getting. I just did a rot repair on my cb7. I had to buy new patches for the quarter panels because they were unsalvageable.

It's not as bad but it's starting to expand..crack..anything that I can treat the panel with? Without body work..? Because I'll jus wait for it to get horrible then do body work

If you're just going to wait for it to get worse... then why even bother slowing it down? fix it once, do it right.

Was there really a need to bump the thread twice within a 2 minute period? There are other places to search besides this website but I'm sure you didn't do that either.

              Try this:
              http://www.amazon.com/Eastwood-Rust-...ata/B002Q6SYVS

This will allow you to put off maintaining your car so you can continue to do dope stuff to it.

The only "solution" is to repair it with new metal.

no offense man but that stuff is a joke, muriatic acid is one solution but you only should use it when your finishing your repair before paint. overall the best thing you can do is cut it out and weld new in. weld thru primer will be your best friend here.

Truthfully I don't care to know anything about those products being used as a solution. I have rust on my car right now that is sitting in my driveway. I bought it non-running and as soon as I get the engine rebuilt I'm tackling the rust. The right way.

He asked for a way to fix the problem the wrong way so I won't get too worked up if I gave him a wrong way to do it the wrong way.

not everyone has money to do shit like that.."the right way". i was looking for a cheap fix for the time being until i decided to do real body work, or paint the car, which will prolly be like 2 yrs from now.

And he gave you a cheap fix, so whats the problem?

The absolute cheapest fix would be to simply cut the rust out and not repair it.

So wait 2 years from now and deal with it all at once.
