ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

attempt to do trunk lid swap.

well i picked up a trunklid for my 90 cb from a 93 cb ... any pointers or advice for a rookie to attempt this? ... i mean i read the write up for it, but the write up was more on using the same key hole than the actual swap for the trunklid. anyone who has done this some feedback would be great bump into any problems?, how long would this take me?, was it difficault?

man its all self explanitory. just look at the two and whats done to the one on the car u got to do to the next. i did mine on my 90 coupe and it looks mad good and was easy only thing that dont work on my car is the lock. the shaft inside the trunklid from the lock to the latch was too short and i havent gone to get one yet.
    it's been a while but i'm back!!

switching the trunk lid is not to hard pretty straight forward, i swapped my coupe trunk lid for a 4 door on my 93. changing the trunk lock was a lil more involved but its not too hard either, just unbolt your trunk lid and bolt the new one on.its a lil easier with a friend though.
im finally back in a cb7 its like coming home.lol

wasn't there a DIY for this a while back?

it will be a lot easier if you have a friend to help you. anyway, what you gotta do is unhook all wiring to the inner tail lights. if the new trunk lid comes with the tail lights then you don't need to remove them but if it doesn't then there are 4(?) bolts holding them on. next, unbolt the trunk lid and put it somewhere. then bolt the new trunk up and reconnect all wires. i hope this helps. good luck.

if it is sedan to sedan it should be straight foreward, but if it is from coupe to sedan it's different i believe you hafta mess with the key and the lock.
i did sedan to sedan so everything was easy.(i did it by myself and trust me i do not wanna do that again) :/

sidenote:make sure you have all the tailight peices off the 92-93 thats very important as they are different from 90-91s

i just did this swap the other day to my moms cb7, i swapped in a 93 sedan lid to a 90 coupe. it was pretty easy i didnt have a problem swapping over the trunk lock, it bolted right up. use a wire coat hanger to fish the wires and trunk popper cable inside. it will save you plenty time. and your done. i did this swap by myself in about 1 and half hours.

also dont forget ( im not sure if you have to do this, but i did) the little hinge that holds the lid down once its shut might have to be pulled out some in order for the lid to catch it and lock. im not sure what to call it, it looks like a hook.

90-91 sedan, 90-91 coupe, and 92-93 sedan use the same size lock, so it will swap right over. only time you need to follow the lock swap guide http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=20966) is if going to/from a 92-93 coupe lid.

the rest is very simple, and only requires removing a few bolts and wires.

everything is bolt off, bolt in. even the wires plug right up. use a sedan deck lid. thats what i used for a 90 coupe
