ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

You will have the SUB OUT on the rear of your deck, you take two RCA plug it there, and then two your amp. That and the trigger wire for your amp turn on.
      wat?

built in..yes. but you still need the remote wire and i'm not sure if those use RCA inputs.

          they might use speaker inputs.

they provide an extra bump. not too bad.

And you'll still need a power source. Even tho it has a built in amp, it'd just be like hooking up a stand alone amp. You'll need power, ground, a remote, and a set of rca's

I made that same mistake of buying one with a built-in amp and it was a Big let down. DONT DO IT!! Save your money and buy a Alpine 500w Amp and there Type E or Type S 10inch subs.

                  OR

Just do what ive done and buy nice Alpine, Polk, JL, or Infinity speakers and be happy with them until you can afford the a nice subwoofer and amp setup

High Desert Audio, or Indo Audio have great deals on name brand stuff.

For woofers, I'd avoid Sony, Kenwood... they make good head units, not so great on amps or woofers

Alpine makes okay stuff, their more mainstream,
Kenwood makes some of THE BEST touchscreens, but I dislike their normal HU,
Pioneer makes all around KICKASS stuff!!!!!
                          Sony makes crap,
                          Jensen makes crap,
                          Eclipse makes good HU's also,

I just bought a pioneer HU, not flashy at all, all the features are their, the only thing is that they tend to have alot of features and hidden buttons that seem hard to use at first, but once your familiar its all good.

As for getting like a bazooka woofer, and built in amps, I would stay away from them. A lil bump is all you will get, get a single 12" woofer, prefab, small Alpine or rockford amp and call it a day. It wont break your wallet!

Actually, the Jensen in dash dvd players with screen have by far better picture quality than some 1400 dollar Eclipse units I've seen.

I just wouldn't recommend buying anything else Jensen makes

Jensen has been friendly to me in the past. I ran a complete Jensen set up, HU, Amp, bandpass and subs (10" XS - the old schools with 2 5/8 excursion, not the pissy little shit that looked like the ks with a new badge) for three years and never had an issue with them.

brian - shop CL. I see setups for cheap all the time. If they don't let you listen to it, don't buy it. Most guys will say "hear it in my car before you buy it."
