ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    components and baffles...

well i had a 93 10th an 4 door come threw th other day and wanted a set of Pioneer 6 3/4" componets instaled and a pioneer 5100mp deck. so i took a few snap shots on the trust Iphone to show what MDF baffles are and to show how to install components and since the Pioneers are some of the easiest i have done period.

    pioneer 6 3/4" mid

1). i took the door panel off (you can view the sticky in the beginner audio for more details) and took out the factory speakers and pods out since the 6 3/4" mids cant fit in it and lined the speaker opening with dynamat before installing the 6 3/4" MDF baffle.

(i like to pre drill all my holes so the screws sit flush and dont raise the speaker so it will have a flat surface to lay on)

2). I moved on to the tweeter location were i picked the top of the door near the locks, There is a trick i picked up on how to make a impression in the door to give the impression that the tweeter is sitting flush but that another story so after i picked a spot and measured the tweeter depth and size i cut the panel out to size.

2a). Use the supplied tools to secure the tweeter against the door panel, PLEASE!!!!! dont use super glue cause you will tear the door panel apart if you ever need to replace them or upgrade.

    2b). The tweeter install

3).Now you want to find a location 4 the {passive) crossover to be installed, you want to install it in a place free of moisture, dirty etc. Since the Pioneer crossover network is so small and there is actually a protective opening in the door panel i picked this location. so i now install the mid driver to the mdf baffle.

4). Now all you have to do is hook up the tweeter thats now on the
door panel to the crossover and re-install the door and your complete.

any questions or more in-detail questions please ask

          Nice write up!

I have the same speakers, and my tweeters are in the same location. Only thing I want to know is if you have issues with the window grazing the magnet, or if there is any vibration when the window is all the way down?

I think mine were 6 1/2's, but I may be wrong.

The baffle is made out of 3/4' mdf which spaces the driver out far enough to that the magnet doesnt come in any contact with the window or window track

Were you close to bumping the interior door skin with the spaced out speaker?

Also, x2 on the tweeter indentation trick.

Nice custom install. How does it sound? What brand is it? Any suggestions for mounting speakers up high somewhere. Like in the rear-view.

there pioneer component liek stated in the first post, as far as sound quality they sound very nice and by far one of the best bang 4 the buck components ive installed. as far as mounting tweeters in the rear view mirror honestly would sound bad, and have a terriable delay and would making imaging awful. You wanna always try to keep the tweeter as close to the mid driver as possiable and if not try to get anywhere from 6-12" away.
