ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Good news to you rockford fans.............

Rockford has aquired their engineer/designer of the OLD SCHOOL rockford amps. Their new lines are going to be UNDERRATED just like the old ones and built TOUGH!!!

I am kind of excited to see what comes of this because I loved the old rockford amps but lately the amps from them have been WAY overrated and not the same.
"you can catch me swoopin 4G coupin switchin lanes" haha haha.

I love my head unit. Kenwood KDC-X792. I had a Pioneer in the CB7, and it was ok. It doesn't hold a candle to the Kenwood. My only problem I have with it now is that it takes a while to find songs on your ipod, and the way it is mounted in my 'lude, there is almost always a glare on the screen, so I can't see what I am doing. I also have some Memphis M-Class 12" subs waiting to go in the car, but the box is too big to fit in the trunk.

Also, my boy swears by Memphis. He has a 12" Memphis Mojo, along with Memphis M-Class speakers (I think... don't quote me on this) with Memphis amps and the same head unit as me, and is sounds phenomenal.

Deck - JVC-DV5300 - Awsome deck, had it for 2 years now, got a 5 year warranty on it, it doesn't have a screen, but it plays cd/dvd's that contain the most popular formats for audio/video, mp2, mp3, mp4, divx, wav, etc.

Equalizer - Sony MK-II - Had this baby since 2001, I loved it the day I bought it, and I still love it today.

Front Speakers - Infinity Reference 6.5" Shallow Speakers (2007) - Great speakers, piercing highs, excellent mids, good lows (it likes the factory door box)

Rear Speakers - Infinity Reference 6.5" Speakers (2001) - Great speakers, this is the 3rd car they have been in. Same as above, but lows suck due to the free-air rear pod rear deck design, in my other 2 rx7's they were great. I'm considering buying the universal speaker foam cups, cut the hole in the bottom as a port, and that should give me the lows they once had.

                    4way Amp - Alpine 40w x 4 @ 4ohms - Great Amp, works like its supposed too, clean sound.

Mono Amp - Alpine 300w x 1 @ 4ohms or 500w x 1 @ 2ohms - Fantastic Amp, no problems with it, other then it likes to blow 12" Alpine Type E's in a Week, replaced it with a JL 12w1, and been bumping hard for the last year.

JL Audio - For SQ, they show you the love, and seem way underated on power handling.

Alpine - Great Amps, thats what makes their decks shine. Subs, don't buy Type E's they are overrated, Old school Type R's are the shit though.

Sony - Their midrange priced decks give you a pretty good bank for the buck, and makes a good headunit when using an external amplifier. Avoid all products you see in Wal-mart like the plague unless its the only name brand thing you can get in driving distance.

Infinity - I love their full range speakers, their reference series blows away imo almost all other brands when it comes to the clarity of their mids & highs. The Kappa series only improves on this especially with their components, but the price you won't find much better then the references.

I have been through quite a few brands with many different cars and for the best quality sound I've ever heard in my CB7 Sedan is 6.5" Kenwood midrange componets in the fron doors, and 12" Kicker Comp VR's in the back window. Unfortunetly I've removed the 12's due to the shity economy and needing extra money. They have been replaced with 6.5" Sony Xplod Full Range coaxle speakers(not found in Wal-mart).
If anyone in the NC area needs a system put in let me know and I'll do it for free. I only except professional results. But I'll do everything the way you want it.

A good website for all your car audio/video needs at great prices:

I have a minor argument on Boss when talking about their amps*. I have an 800 watt hooked up to (2)6.5" (door) and 2 (6 x 9") (deck). After spending about a week sitting in water I let it dry out for a couple of weeks then went to see if it still worked and it worked as good as it did the first day I had it. So for a budget setup that isn't going to make you cry if it gets stolen and are looking to power door speakers it does the job nicely.

                        *Just an opinion.

it is all opinion ask 10 people and you will hear 10 brands, here is my opinion.

head unit alpine or eclipse for a deck
double din screen pioneer takes it this year ( the avicz120bt) not out yet but i saw it in myreps car its the sickest deck ive seen.

amps i havent found any i preffer to the jl audio hd series or for entry level rockford p series or jl g series are both very nice on a budget

speakers i am hands down a focal beliver in any price range they dont make a 79.00 speaker but every price range they are in they are the best

and subs again i am all for jl audio i have 10w3s in my truck and my wifes car and will be installing 13w6v2s into my accord, not an spl speaker but they make a great sounding sub with good output that will work well in just about any box.
