ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Odd car audio problem.

I've had my system rockin for a long time, but recently I was getting static at higher volumes. I decided to redo everything cleaner, I bought a new headunit (old one's drive jammed) redid the harness but used the honda ground wire (Worked before fine). So I re-ran the RCA on the left side, and power thru the right side of the car (They were on same sides.). Cleaned up my amp, and all other connections and ran a bigger ground (so it would match the power gauge wire.) Checked for broken cable, or anything making contact and polished all grounds. When I turn up the volume it seems my Subwoofers go into a seizure and distort, but if I turn the subwoofers OFF in the headunit all is fine. I checked the subs, they aren't damaged, wired properly, amp is wired properly I think my amp may be going out. Anyone got any good suggestions??

Idk maybe you have the gain set to high and the signal is clipping or you have the crossover on the amp set wrong.

Could be that the gain is set too high, or the LPF is set up wrong.

Could be a ground issue too at the amp, but I doubt it.

Im running some semi-hybrid stuff. The HU is a Sony HU (Not sure of the model, but pretty recent, had one for 4 years and it worked solid). The amp is Digital Audio and so are the subwoofers. My HU has a setting for LPF but I believe its off, the AMP LPF I will have to check later to see where its at.

If you still continue to have problems maybe you should have someone look at it that has a better understanding of car audio ..... or maybe take it to a shop

I'm getting static/distortion at lower volumes from the regular speakers, distortion at higher volumes for the subwoofers. My power and ground connections are good I think, and I haven't run power/RCA cables on the same side. Not sure what it could be...
