ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you're trying to build an entire system for $300 your best bet is to take your time and shop around. You can get damn nice equipment on clearance for the cheap (Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine) or you can get last year's model or a floor model cheap (I once bought a pair of competition 10s that originally were $299 each for $30 each because they were two years old NIB) or you can shop craigslist and pick up nice used equipment. If you go the CL route, make sure you get to hear it working before you buy it. I cannot stress that enough. There are legit sellers on CL, but it's up to you to be sure you're buying decent equipment.
If you're buying new, then you get what you pay for 99% of the time.
That right there is some good advice, especially the "Xplod systems suck donkey anus...", I've never heard an Xplod system or sub that sounded good. Hell my 6.5 Pioneers hit almost as hard as two 10" Xplods.

I have all sony all around. Its a good system, but you have to get it from a good place. If you get it from walmart, its gona be crap. I got mine from best buy and circuit city. Sony is a good brand, its just that people dont give it a chance or dont know how to hook it up right. Its not going to be as good as kicker or alpine I know that, but those brands are just name. They give good quality sound on stuff that costs over 100 dollars for two speakers, might as well get a whole system from sony that costs 100 for a stereo and all speakers. That is all IMO.

i have owned, 4 systems so far. they all sounded good but they all had seemed to fit into different categories of music. but i like them all. my first set was a neighbors MTX's he sold cause he moved, sold those. next 2 Punch Rockford Fosgates, those got stolen. next were JL's nice sounding good thump and still able the hear the voice of the singer, than the bass line, still have them wanting to get rid of them if possible. lastly back to Rockford but this time thumping it old school with the Punch classic edition. thump hard and all u hear is bass and i like it but maybe its a little to much. but for cheap costs. brand new MTX has subs for 80 bucks, and they sound good. If your good with woodworking you can make your own box and have a good system for under 300. The majority of the money is likely being spent on the amp. but i would suggest MTX's from my experience, and my friends who work down at audio vision.
