ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Id say check your batt if it just started i had an setup like that in my old accord and the alt powered it fine....i had an red top optoma in that car and it never gave me any probs and i only had an 1 farid cap....

Edit....if the batt light is coming on then you need an new alt...or in my case i needed an new belt lol. ...that alt is an refurb thats been upgraded they dont tend to last....it will do the job great for what you have.....but i wouldnt buy an upgraded referb without an warrenty...

i recently got an ever start battery from the junk and its been working sligthky better than the green top interstate i had ( turned out it was retaining charged so i replaced it )

i dont know what to invest on first. a yellow top optima battery or a high out put alt?

              http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-HO...Q5fAccessories

and its got a one year warranty

OHH YEAH. dude, this flickering ligth has been on my ass for a year now. i havent done anything about it. im thinking stock alt. cant take the heat.

the fact that its been going on for an year and your alt is still working says its prob an ecu or bad wireing....id check the volts at the alt to see though it should run 14 volts all day....if the alt is good id say start at the batt but if it needs an alt then fix it first....your voltege regulator is in your ecu if its going out id worry about that before anything else. ....get that light to stop flickering before anything else.... Or you could end up with an very worse problem down the road.....

Unless your alt is just crapping out period your stock alt should handle that 1200 watt amp no problem I know its not pushing anywhere near 1200 watts tho,I'd replace the cap and do like a batcap 800.

well this is probably a dumb question. when your alternator is bad, does the battery light automatically come on? and is there any way to prevent it from going bad because i have never changed my alt before, so it does worry me.

If it comes on solid yes your alt is out.... flickering i would guess is voltege regulator....ive changed an few out there not all that hard to do. ...i once had an probe that was an nightmare our cars are easy. Civics are an luttle more tricky but not bad.

well, i also just replaced ecu with a working one ( my last ecu failed it went on limp mode ) and the flickering continues. you think maybe bad audio wirring? everything looks good and the sound has a lot of potential but maybe i should all wires are new and in good shape

anyway ima get a high output alternator for sure so anyone recommend a good alternator. i got like 150$ to spend on it.

At that point id say replace the alt check belts wireing going to batt and grounds or....i dont have an book on me to check but it could have an relay that went bad.....
As far as alts try shucks or auto zone......and they can tell if your alt is bad there just bring in your old one and have it tested....
