ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Anyone successfully installed H3 base LED bulbs in 90-91 Stanley fog lights?

Been prowling the web for a couple of days now looking for relatively high output (at least 2-3000 lumen @ 6-6500K) H3 LED bulbs that would work in 90-91 factory fog lights, so far without success. There's plenty of H3 LED bulbs out there, but all of the higher output units I've seen have large heat sinks that won't fit under the rubber cap on the back of the Stanley housing or the LED end of the bulb is far too long (or both). There are a couple that are the same size as a standard Halogen bulb, but they're low output, and advertised as "for cosmetic upgrades only". If possible, I'd rather not use halogen bulbs to avoid subjecting the 30+ year old plastic/composite housings to the heat halogens generate.

Even though I replaced most of the exterior & interior bulbs with LED I've shield away from messing with the fogs. I tried a few LED sizes but as you mention they intefered with the rubber covers. The stock H3Cs do a good enough job and since they're secondary to headlights they're bright enough for me. Until I can find a suitable LED replacement for the stock size I'm leaving well enough alone. As you mention there's no sense in jeopardizing the fog assemblies they're just to hard to come by anymore and most of what I've seen look pretty sad and cost to much.

Honestly I've never received any negative comments about mine when everything is lit up...

Amen. The LED / high output light thing is a bit over the top & annoying for everyone but the driver. IMO

I can't find any H3c LED equivalent bulbs that look like they'd work other than the low power 400 lumen "cosmetic upgrade" units, so I'm just gonna use regular He Halogns. The purpose wasnt to get super bright lights - was hoping to get bulbs that generated less heat to protect the old housings

Going on 30 years with the stock OEM bulbs and no issues...
