Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    6.5 in Front Speakers

I got some Polk Audio DB Series speakers for my birthday 6.5in and 6x9. I went to have them installed and the retards there said that the fronts were 4in and put these shitty pioneers in there instead. My Question is this: Will a 6.5in speaker fit in the front doors of a 93 ex coupe? I know that some cutting and modification is necessary. If so I'm gonna go back and have the 4inchers taken out and get the 6.5in polks back and do them myself.

    I have 6.5 Alpine's in my coupe.

They're deeper than the stock 6's, so i used the bracket that came with them to pake it fit in the door without bottoming out.

Then they rubbed against the inside of the door panel (they protrude past it) so i cut the half circle (abotu that much) out of the door panel then covered it with some split loom tubing so i didn't have a raw edge of the doorpanel all ugly looking.

im gonna update my cardomain later so ill get pics.

I have 6.5" Kenwood separates in my 93 LX. They should be able to get those in, unless they're oversized. If they're oversized if should say that somewhere on the box they came in.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that order

I just finished my 6.5in Alpine installation. I have a sedan(dont know if there is a difference between sizes in coupes or sedans) with 5in pods. I took them out and drilled another hole for a screw and it fit snug without any clearence problems.

i just purchased the Kicker KS65.2 Component set with 6.5" mids...I have a 92 EX SEDAN which came with the shitty 5" speakers in the front doors. So I went to the local junkyard and got a set of LX pods thinking that they would solve my problem..well they kinda did. I've done alot of cutting on the pods and now they are basically just a circle for me to mount the speakers to. They also do not interfer with my window. I have not installed them for good yet, only to test fit them. I will post many pictures (in the image gallery secton) when the install begins. Start looking for PROJECT KICKER INSTALL sometime next week in that section

I want to replace my fronts, but I can't seem to find good 4" speakers. You guys are saying you can put 6.5"s in there?

Yup it should be (at least in my 90 Accord Ex). I was able to mount 6.5in Alpine speakers in there. Had to go to hardware stores and find the right size screw. Also drilled another hole for more support. When you put in the speakers and screw'em in test for clearence issues by rolling windows all the way down.

Alpine Type R do fit...if you dont roll the window down all the way. I have an mdf riser on mine to make em fit and let the window go down. Also they were extremely cheap off ebay. $130 for brand new type r 6.5 components.
