ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i had the dx model so i had to put rear speakers in myself so while i was doing that i bought some alpine componets and mounted the tweeter right above the door handle and the woofer parts magnet on the back was bigger so i used the spacer that came with it its really actually an easy thing to do so instead of spending money by taking it to someone try it yourself
Everything done on this baby is all by me, NOT one thing done by a shop or store

    My myspace hit me up

Changing speakers is easy, I'd never pay anyone to do that.

I just got lazy anf didn't feel like doing it. I have a problem with my hands and feet which basically causes pain in them 24/7 exerting myself and heat make it worse. So working on my car is really difficult for me. I have to find a time when im not in too much pain to do it. Times without pain are few and far between. Thats why i had them install them for me.

Very true .. there ya go .. then again .. alotta people dont know that the EX came with
4 inch speakers in front .. the DX and LX came with 6.5's in the front .. annnd ..
the EX came with 6x9's in the rear deck, as opposed to the LX which came with 6.5's.

Matter a fact .. someone correct me if I'm wrong .. but I also believe some EX models
            came with 5.25's?

If ya wanna know what each trim-line and year came with .. there is a *sticky* .. somewhere ..
What I still wanna know is the *maximum allowable depth* in inches for the LX
in the front doors that contain the 6.5's without modification to the pods.
That is .. before the back of the magnent touches the front windows .. when rolled down.

            A Hui Hou !!!

                the answer is
                DX/LX= 2-3/4" and for EX/SE= 3-3/4" for the rear.
                2-1/8" for the fronts

2 1/8ths for the front huh? Hmmm .. you sir .. are the man !
However .. may I ask as to where that info came from? (not that I doubt you)
                  But .. I have a pair of Cerwin Vega's (6.5) in the front .. they measure 2 1/4 ..
Would an eighth of an inch be that drastic on my LX? Or, am I just lucky? LOL !

Thanks for the above info tho .. it's a handy bit of of 411 ..

Oi vay .. so ok .. you are the man .. lol .. I usually have a pretty good success rate
with the search function as well .. and quite honestly, I knew there was a thread on
the size of different trims and years .. however .. I did not know that there was a thread
on the depth .. albeit in the very same bloody thread!

Oh the shame .. I'll uhhh .. err.. be going now .. ahem .. uhh .. thanks man ..

I have 93 10th edition and front MB Qaurts 5.5" / Rear MB Qaurts 6x9.
Depends upon brand of speaker.. Before MB Quarts.. I had front JVC 6.5".
Just the rear of the mount is cut off due to bigger magnetic.
