ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    components.

welp, im in the market for some components. i really like them cause of the nice sound they produce and the clarity. the only problem is what kind.

i heard the boston acustics s60 i think that is like 370 bucks and im like, no.

im more around under 200 but the cheaper the better.

at work we have one at clearence mtx 50001 which is a 5 1/4 component. im hearing these dont sound all that great. any opinions?

then i heard the polk db series components, and they are sharp...kickers ks series sucks.

now i have a hookup with eclipse and im wondering, their point source line is a coax but with the ability to actually seperate the tweeter and the woofer, thus a nice crossover...i dont care about it seperating i just want clarity...has anyone heard these?

any opinions on components or point source eclipse? i like clarity...i dont like it to sound loud, i like it crisp loud if you get my drift.

    thanks!
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

Well, if you want amazing sound and clarity you'll need to invest a bit of money. $200 is reasonable, but I wouldn't go cheaper.....you won't get what you're looking for.

I certainly do. Budget for an amplifier as well in order to achieve it. Something with 25-50 watts-per-channel (RMS) delivered to them will do the trick.

MB Quart Premium series, check them out, should be right around that price from ebay.

Oh yeah, definitely. I just installed a pair of MB Quart in my friends car.. I believe they were PCE-216's. Great sound quality and the box that they came in was sealed with a sticker saying "Made In Germany." How cool is that?! (he was running a alpine MRP-F250 amp)

we have the lower series, i havent heard the higher series...hehe and yes you are right.

how about polk DB the ones at circuit city? those components sound good.

...if i go kappas i have to go an amp cause they run at 2 ohms....i been looking into those.

I would definatley have to agree with the suggestions made. Infinity will give you crisp clear sound with components and subs...i love them for that. i do however find that the MB quarts (depending on what price range you fall in) are not as crisp but definately seem to have more depth to the sound. I have a set of MB quart EWA 160's, they are lower end but produce some good sound! MTX is great for power but i must say the sound quality of their lower stuff is kinda muddy...i think if you spent a little more for those guys it could get you great results! (or found someone with a discount or e-bay)
I think you got it good here cause either way you go, you could have a great system!

well i was shooting for infinity but at work we had the mtx 5001 on clearence for 80 dollars, those are the components, so i hit those up hehe.

i hooked em up just to see how it sounds and its really nice....i also put some dynamat inside my door and put my crappy pioneer back in to find out it sounds wayyyy better lol!!!

but im making a custom pod inside the door for the speaker and the tweeter in the same location...ill keep you guys updated
