Black/Grey 93 LX Coupe
Howdy!! I've been lurking around this site since late september last year, reading up on all that is the cb7 and getting great diy advice. Finally decided I'd post up....My early, just beginning, 1993 LX Coupe project car.
I bout some 6 spokes off a guy that were in REALLY bad shape, so I painted them gunmetal
After a long aircraft remover/sanding process, I primered' em up...
Then painted...and clearcoated...
The passenger fender was destroyed...a *ahem*...mild run in with a very large and foreboding Ford Excursion in the parking lot of a bar....
So I bought a new one, removed the old one...
And replaced...
With new fender and new(ish) wheels...
Need to paint the new fender...and as I was removing the old fender, the sidemarker / parking light was being a bit stubborn. I used a little too much pressure with a flat head and ended up breaking it. Shitty.
But I do have JDM 2 pieces with stanley clear corners sitting in my garage waiting for install, and I'm waiting for my harness from password:jdm to come
Until then, I put a pair of clean USDM lenses on I bought from a guy for 20 bucks. I plan on using my old lenses as practice material for the blackhouse diy.
I also had some fun with a rattle can of flat black, some dental floss and a turtlewax lense clarifying kit. Removed my back emblems...removed my tail lights and front bumper signals...cleaned the shit out of them, made 'em all pretty and shiny. Then removed the chrome from the grill, roughed it up with some 300 grit, and painted it all flat black after masking off the H emblem. After it dried I attached the rear Accord emblem to the grill....
Badgeless...
Not-so-badgeless...
Camera and shitty day equates to bad pics. I'll try and get better ones with my digital camera, maybe once after I get my JDM 2 pieces on....
Immediate future plans include the jdm 2 pieces, rear disc brake conversion, timing belt replacement, possible head rebuild, and of course matching the fender to the rest of the car color. Not so immediate, suspension and more suspension. Lower it at least 1.8 inches with a sportkit, or maybe i'll go with a coil-over kit. That's all for now!
