rice not nice?

i was at work riding around in the golfkart bored out of my mind and i started thinking....why do most people (including me) think that projectors, bodykits, and neons are "ricey" ? if you really think about it they are the ones that are actually doing something different. they are the ones that are making their cars look "good". we are putting so much money into making our cars look jdm and thats actually just making our cars look they way they come stock in another country. so maybe an acccord with an r33 bodykit, angel-eye projectors, more neons than a night club sign, and quad exhaust really do look nice.........(YEA RIGHT )

it all depends on the parts you put together on the car... as ^ said with the right stuff and combination with the body kits neon lights etc. a car can actually look good..

I don't mind bodykits or any of the stuff so called "rice".

Only thing I hate about rice are the people who keeps saying this is rice and that is rice. Some people obviously have no idea of what the hell rice really means.

The things you've mentioned aren't "rice" necessarily. Rice is when you try to make your car look faster than it is.
Projectors? Not rice, lighting is functional.
Undercar lights? Not rice, having a glow under the car doesn't make it look fast IMO.
A body kit? Not rice necessarily, i would consider it body modification or customization. I don't consider it trying to look fast, just different.
A big honking drag wing? Yeah, usually rice. Downforce on the rear of a car that's FWD and will never generate enough speed to create lift is rice, but if the wing looks decent with the rest of the car, I'll let it slide.
A ton of stickers that advertise parts you don't have? RICE. Don't wave your dick around if you ain't got the balls to back it up.
A FMIC with no turbo? RICE
That POS that goes in the end of your exhaust to sound like a turbo spooling or the electronic BOV? RICE
A 5 inch tach with or without a shift light, when you already have a factory tach? RICE


And my personal rice pet peeve. Calling nitrous oxide "NAWS". NOS is a brand, not the name of the stuff inside the tank. It's nitrous, nitrous oxide, NO2, laughing gas, the juice, the bottle or the cheap ass instant horsepower squirt. STOP CALLING IT FUCKING NAWS. Everytime I hear someone say that it makes me want to smack them in the mouth. Ever since that fucking crap ass movie everyone thinks they sound cool when they say NAWS. Here's a clue. You don't. You sound like a ricer. you sound like some punk asshole who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. If Holley hadn't produced NO2 when FNF came out, would everyone be calling NO2 "ZEX"?

this man is preaching people lol.... yea i hate when people call the juice nos too. i actually liked the first f&f. That green eclipse had a wing and big ass bodykit but we all saw that engine man..... i wouldn't have tried to race him (in my car). And i dont know about everyone else but everytime i'm at a stop light and someone pulls up next to me and wants to race it's usually those people with neons and 5" exhaust tips with the little l.e.d's inside em so i'm guessing they think each light bulb gives them like 10hp each

just look at CustomLowz car.most would consider that rice,just because of the body kit,paint,and rims.but it all flows.and imo its one of the nicest cars on this forum

it all depends on the cars exterior and what mods they have...with the right car and right parts a car may not look ricey at all

to me, rice is the doing of things the quick, cheap and wrong way. why paint the bodykit if you can just cruise with an un-painted one and acll it 2-tone? why mount and mould the body kit the correct way when you can put it on with wood screws and double sided tape? why go through the trouble of buying, painting, and installing a new hood when you can use double-sided tape to attach a new scoop? things like that are what i call rice. there are very few items, in my eyes, that are rice themselves.
