ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A little computer related help?

I've got three issues that I'm stumped on. I've tried to figure them out and can't.

1: I have an RCA Small Wonder digital video camera

I'm having trouble even accessing the AVI files on the camera. When I try, I get an error telling me microsoft explorer has encounterd an unexpected problem and needs to close, blah blah blah.If I manage to move a file to the HD, I can't edit it; the software closes for the same unexpected error problem ( no numbers or codes). I didn't have any issues with it before (on an old POS PC with less than 500 meg of ram), and this is a brand new computer with a gig of ram. WTF??

2: I have five songs that I copied from CD to my HD that I can't burn to CD. It tells me there's no room on the disc or that the drive is in use. How can I burn it to the HD but not a CD? I've burned other shit to CD, so I know the drive works fine. WTF?

3: I can't get the SD/XD whatever card reader to work. Am I missing something? It should be slip the card in, make sure it seats, go to my computer and click on the removable media, correct?

    Thanks in advance!

i'm thinking it has to do with the device not being compatible with Vista since you said you're using a new computer.

That song might be protected. I'm having the same issues with a CD i recently download because it's out of print at Yesasia.com but i'm able to transfer it to my MP3 player. What CD writing software are you using?

Is this card reader an internal drive or is it one of those removable USB plugged in devices? if it's USB, juggle the plug to make sure it's fully plugged into the computer.

What operating system does the old computer have?

      What about the new computer?

Did you install drivers for the card reader?

The stupid camera is supposed to work, in fact, it updated itself automatically on the new pc. The old system was windows 2000 something, I think. And even when I get the files onto the new pc, it acts the same. An AVI with MPEG4 something should be an AVI with MPEG4 something, right?

I was thinking some weird copyright protection, but why let me burn it to the HD?

The card reader is built in to the tower. It is supposed to read SD/MCC/xD/MS/MS pro, but it doesn't seem to work. It won't show up with my XD card either.

oh.. do you have the codecs to play AVI files or MPEG4 files?

as for the card reader thing, right click your "My Computer" icon if you're on XP or try to locate "Device Manager". once you loaded up Device Manager, look for anything that has a yellow circle with a black exclamation mark in it.
that means that that device isn't working because it's probably missing a driver.

          report back with any findings.
