ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Another "I Got Pulled Over" Thread

Well today this morning i was coming from my aviation class back to school.

and so i took the freeway and it was a 60mph speed limit.

    so i was traveling 65mph.

and i got pulled over. the cop said it's a speed trap. obviously now i see a car pulled over to the side.

and 4 other cop cars fly by while i was pulled over.

thing is they set up the trap where the speed limit drops right down to 55mph.

so i got clocked at 67mph and dropped down to 65mph with a 76.40 dollar fine.

i know i sped. but speed trap? that's harsh. /rant.

If all it is is a $76 fine and no points, consider yourself lucky.

In the past year I have had 2 tickets written for a speed over 80 mph. That requires a court appearance. Each of them cost me at least $200.

I find it funny that people always bitch about speed traps. My thought is, if you're obeying the limit, you don't get caught. You know the laws, they have signs posted about the limit. If you choose to break the law, be prepared to face the consequences. You got lucky on the low fine, like G-Man said. pay it, learn from it.

insurance will still go up because regarless if its points or no points its still on your driving record and thats what insurance looks at.

True, you will still get insurance points by paying the ticket. You basically plead guilty by doing that.

My tickets were taken care of by taking a safe driving class which changed my plea to something called prayer for judgment, which kinda makes it look like I did not get a ticket. The second one, I hired a lawyer and they were able to get it changed to improper equipment which is not a moving violation.

One was 93 in a 55 lolllll, big open country road with only me... or so I thought at the time

Guess its a good thing I work for a police department otherwise I would of had 4 tickets instead of 0

DUDE JUST PAY IT! that is nothing!!

In NYC that shit is expensive

I got pull-over for doing 79 in 50. that = 6 points on my license + $115 fine + $100+/year for the next 3 years + Traffic Class i believe (not sure). Thank god the cop was not an asshole and did not put down 80. if he were to put down 80 i would have to appear in court.

I did not pay it yet :P. I hired a lawyer instead - $450. I don't need my insurance to go up.

Ever since that time. I be smart where and when i speed
