ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    25mm spacers -.-

Halright, so I've 25mm wheel spacers all round. The local shop recommended them because they are bolt on spacers w/ studs so I wouldn't have to go replacing bearings to put in some extended studs. I also like the way it looks much more .

Anyways problem is that while at a buddies track I took a corner moderately hard and heard some rubbing. I thought it was just the mud flaps rubbing again due to how low I am.. I checked after and noticed the outer tire was pretty darn torn up!

So I have one of three options, which do you recommend?
-Get rid of rear wheel spacers (25mm)
-Increase stiffness settings @ track (not sure if this will do the trick)
-Raise suspension onto a higher setting on the koni sports

Suspension: H&R race on Koni Sports

find out where you are rubbing. if it is your quarter panels, have them rolled/pulled. if that isnt it, raising it up a perch wouldnt be a bad idea. dont take off the rear spacers and leave the front, that would make it just look awkward.

there is always the option of getting thinner spacers

25mm spacers withpout extended studs is a horrible idea.
this gives you very little lugnut thread space onto the stud.
keep in mind you are driving an unsafe car with them.

Some spacers come bolted on with ext/ studs. To me, i'd just drop down some MM's bro. =] Either that or raise the ride height a bit like the other member said.

@drummersteve7 ^ thats what I mean, the whole point of getting these specific bolt on spacers was to avoid putting in actual extended studs & replacing bearings n whatnot.

@vex yeah I think maybe its a minor dent I have in my fender that's rubbng, I'm going to hammer that in a bit, set shocks stiffer, and look into having the fenders rolled. If that looks like too much money I'll put the springs on the medium slot

ahh I misread the fact fact that they had studs.
still not to sure about that.
I would be wary, esp if you are a hard driver.

I would never trust spacers on my car.

The spacers w/ studs are same as extended studs themselves. I've seen many cars with spacers like those run auto-x down here in oklahoma all the time.

Ditch the spacers all together and shave the caliper bracket.

                    Spacer vs adapter folks...

Why would you even want 25mm? Those are wide. Seems to me like you need to learn a bit more about offsets, your wheel's max/min offsets, and car's tolerance. And why would you even consider going to the track with them?

coz I'm 18 and know shit all about cars and am still learning thus asked this question in the first place, sorry not everybody's a car genius like you.

You say you want to learn but yet you already have the adapters on your car. Is that how it works? You are not learning but want a solution, there is a difference. And car genius me? No thanks, not I.

Here is a friendly advice, when you extend the track width with adapters you would want to be cautious with taking hard lateral turns. As well as the adapters themselves.

Different wheels = different offset. Search around for what the ideal offset is for the CB7. Account for the 25mm.

The problem with spacers is that it places more vehicle weight on the studs instead of the hub. The purpose of the hub protruding out into the wheel is to take the weight of the wheel. Beyond that, you're spreading out where the weight of the vehicle is, thus changing the physics of the car, and the functionality of the suspension system.

They aren't the same as extended studs.
All the weight/force is transferred to the spacer rather than the hub.
If you trust your life with the aftermarket spacers then that's your choice.

                            OP -
Get proper extended studs and stop cheaping out.
Btw - Who said you had to replace the wheel bearings when you replace studs . . . ?

spent nearly $8k on this car AFTER purchasing + repairing it the first time, don't plan to quit dumping money into her anytime soon.

wasn't really trying to cheap out, thought they looked nicer too... but was trying to save time (i know i know i shouldn't do that I get it, I'm a newb and that's why I chose this name ). I originally ordered the extended studs but mechanic said these would work just as good (but wear the bearings a tad quicker) and look nicer...

Anyvays a mechanic at the local sports shop informed me on the bearings, she wasn't sure whether or not they had to be replaced but was pretty certain. Everything else they've done for me has been great though
