Hi all, i wanted to know who here has AAA service, and how much do you actually use it.



I signed up last week Monday, and im happy i feel safer driving my car just in case i may get stuck some where.


im a gold member, or a premium member they say, the offer is,

1. 100 miles worth of tow from point of break down to where i gotta go, if i do go over 100 miles ill have to pay more.

2. they will give gas if i run outta gas, they will give me enough to go home or to go to the next gas station.

3. pay up to $100 dollars for a guy to come out and open the door if you was to lock keys in, wow thats expenisve, i usually carry a spare key in my wallet. i used it many times!

4. god forbbid you was ina wreck 100 miles from where you live, they will pay for room and board for the night, who knows how rugged them motels are.

5. the cool thing also is, if im in someone else's car, and they have trouble, as long as im their i can use my card to help them tow their car.

6. if you know someone who wants to join AAA service under your name, you can add them for $56 dollars, that $10 less than you will pay out rite if your by yourself signing up.
my bill is $66 bucks a year.

I got it to get my CB towed to the dealership to be fixed... I haven't used it in nearly a year. I need to get on that.

thanks, im sure there are a few other ppl here that have this service, a reg tow from point a to b in my city is liek 60 or 70 rite there, and if u go over their tow limit u gotta pay, why spend that much when you can get triple A for $66 a year.

I had AAA from 1987 through 2001, I cannot recall how many times I had to use them, once I used them twice in the same day for a jumpstart. Being that I haven't been with them in almost 10 years I would double check these items that I had an issue with, perhaps they've changed because of me. LOL

1.) I had a problem with the "100 miles free towing". After a breakdown I was informed by AAA that the "100 free miles" was to get my vehicle either to my house or to a authorized AAA repair facility whichever was closer, which in this case the service center was 17miles and my house 83miles.

4.) This was a reimbursement to you after you paid with cash or direct payment to the hotel after you secured payment with a credit card hold. I thought I wouldn't have to come out of my pocket at all.

I think AAA is great and would still have them if not for equivalent "roadside assistance" through my auto insurance but AAA has other discounts and benefits that are second to none and should not be overlooked.

I've never taken advantage of their other discounts... I really should.

I got towed 130 miles in FL once. Fortunately, they towed my car to my friend's house, even though it maxed out the 100 miles. I'd have been screwed if I got towed to a service station!

My car crapped out at Maaco once (the baking process fried my ignition coil...)
AAA wouldn't tow me from Maaco to a shop because I was already "at a repair facility".

i know carcollectorkid has it and has used it a couple of times just make sure u know there can be a flate bed fee if you are lowered haha

they gave me a free atlas also, and some other stuff, imma look at the paper and see wat all they offer.

Been a member since 2000, have never used it. Premium member just like you. This thread reminds me to cut it since its pretty much useless with my cars not breaking down and if they do they usually have the lifetime free roadside service.

i used it between 4 and 6 times over the year before i took my car off the road. the 100 mile package is great, i had the 3-mile and it kindof sucked.

i have it and love it. plus in cali AAA is also a mini dmv. so i dont have ot make long ass lines to get my tags. and the cupons help in these times... great restaurant discounts and stuff like that. and if you get a flat and its hella cold out, just call them and let them do it for you

^^^ yep your rite, resturant discounts, tire discounts, also b and g glass discounts.


not sure how much you actually save, but anything is better than payin full price...

and to honda bob, i thought the same til my faithful cb broke down 1 hr away from home, dont cut, continue to have it, just in case.

I am a platinum member, they kick ass when you lock your keys out of your car at 2am, outside of a bar.

having the 3 mile does suck balls! i mean its 35 bucks for a basic membership, another 30 beans and you get 97 more miles of tow and other shitz.
