ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Today at the junkyard

So I went to the junkyard today and started dickin' around. I ended up finding ... an A6 ecu, iab plate, iab black box (not broke), CD5 rear lip, Volvo front lip, EX muffler, and a 12v bezel. Total cost ..17.86. Everything was in pretty good shape which is surprising for the pull a part down here. So cheap I shoulda grabbed the A6 cam dammit! I've got some work to do.

i'll be honest, i like the yard... it's always interesting to see what cars you come across and it's awesome when you find what you're looking for. for the longest i was looking for the plastic ring that holds the cigarette lighter in place. i mean weeks went by (cars at the yard i go to rotate about once a week!). then i found it... i swear i heard angels humming in the background.

haha I know exactly what you mean. They're always the first thing that's busted on yard cars. I've been looking for months. I found one on the seat in three pieces and glued and jb welded it back together. Normally I wouldn't settle for something like that but those things are impossible to find and I hate how my lighter just dangles there and gets stuck in the cup holder and shit.

yeah I'm pretty sure they all do. There's a little light bulb back behind the lighter it just glows through the clear ring around the lighter. So if you don't have a light shining through there than the bulb is probably burnt out. If you take your cd player out you should be able to get to it.

sorry to change the topic I<3MyHonda lol! but since we're on the subject, removing the cigarette lighter without breaking the bezel is actually much easier than it seems. with the car off, press your thumb into the socket (again, power off) and turn the entire thing counter clockwise. it'll unscrew a bit from its base and drop downward. you might have to squeeze a pinky underneath to help unscrew it depending on how much it's been tightened.

before finding the bezel, i used two small zip ties, looped together and ran them beneath the cigarette lighter and through the two holes that the bezel seats itself onto. ghetto rig, but effective.

I went to my first yard today! It was tight! I found 12 cbs 3 civics like 35 preludes and a teg. and they were all missing the same thing. speakers wheels, and door panels. and the thing that got me was that each one had less rust than my mine. i was expecting to see most of them completely picked, instead i found 5 cbs with 95% of their parts still on them. i didn't have time to get what i needed, but tomorrow its on!

Yeah I actually just figured that out when I got home and was trying to put it together. Just when you think you know everything about your car ....

I'm not actually sure what volvo it was. Late 80's early 90's wagon. I'm pretty sure it's stated on this site somewhere. Search for infamous volvo lip. If not I can check when I go back next weekend.
