A new bumper support might bring the whole bumper back out. They are made to act like an accordion a little bit to take some of the impact. I'm sure if you take off the bumper, you will see damage to the bumper support (not the fiberglass part, but the square tube that connects it to the front of the car)

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

or just obtain frame dimension sheets. Body shops have access to databases of these to repair wrecked carsOriginally posted by Jarrett View PostNo one ever seems to mention this but if I were doing front end repair work I would double check my front end dimensions against a known-unwrecked CB or two, ensure I have those dimensions on my car and weld a bar to the strut towers. If you have an ESP strut bar then that's more than adequate. You'd just need a bar tacked in place, though.
That makes me think about something. Those of us who have unwrecked(EVER) CBs should create a dimensional database of several point-to-point measurements. As time goes on more and more will happen to these cars and more metal will degrade. This could be invaluable to the random guy 10 years from now that does a full body restoration of one of these things.

The bumper support bracket on the passenger side pushed in the core support behind it in a bit. The actual passenger side bracket is bent slightly but it did push in the core support where it bolts up. You can most definitely see a difference between the driver side and passenger side. The core support is being replaced, new hood, new bumper and support brackets and everything should be perfect again. Gives me reason to buy a traction bar, and solid poly mounts while I'm at it.Last edited by Morelia236; 03-26-2013, 03:10 AM.
