ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Insurance help!!!

    Hey guys
Im new to the site and I figure the best place to get help with insurance would be here, I live near the GTA in Ontario, Canada.
Any suggestions would really help, as my record isn't the cleanest and the lowest rate I could find was 580 a month with minimum coverage!!!

    PLease help!

We have alot of online insurance that is really cheap like The General. See if they have it in Canada or something like that.

That's a pretty high quote. I'm curious what your record's like, since a friend of mine has a 2000 Integra with 6 points on his license, and he was paying like $500/month.

Your best bet would be either going through your parents insurance and hoping they offer some sort of deal for having multiple cars insured through the same company, or you could give Belairdirect a try. I have my car insured through them, and when I originally got my insurance they were the cheapest I could find, although I havent checked in a couple years to try to find a better rate.

Also STREET-SPEC, in Ontario, there is no such thing as cheap car insurance. If you're a male under the age of 25, you need to be prepared to pay out the ass for minimum coverage.

I know in PA the person who ins the car has to rigister it and insure it in their name. It's not like that in all states tho.

I like how he admits to insurance fraud in public, though.

Yeah if you're in facility insurance you'll find no cheap insurance in ontario. That said companies like State Farm will probably give you the worst rate as you being high risk they don't want your business, but some smaller private insurance brokers may be able to help you shave off some of that cost.

Your pretty much screwed until after 3 years passes from your infractions.
When I was about 20 my insurance got so bad I actually parked the car for a couple years and rode the Loser Cruiser. It cost me a fuel pump because the car sat so long but I saved thousands of dollars in insurance.

3 years is the magic answer unfortunately. A couple years of taking the 52 window coupe will teach you to slow down.

why did you feel it necessary to post a picture of your car (and a giant one at that) in a thread about insurance?

Geico for me was like $55 a month liability, after at least one speeding ticket that I can remember, as well as me rear-ending someone. Full coverage with Geico on the new RSX is a hair shy of $100 a month, which also includes a speeding ticket. I turn 25 next month.

Does Canada just have it bad like that or what? I hear rates in the UK are ridiculous, too.
