ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

what do you exactly mean? are you talking about just slapping a cone filter onto the stock intake tube or do you mean custom piping and all that?

why? you can get a metal intake tube off of Ebay for around 30 shipped and then use the other 40 or 50 bucks on a good cone filter at the store.

at least that way you have all the mounting equipment.

Clicked on the DIY thread. Clicked on the search button. Typed in "intake". Scrolled down maybe a half a page. There it was.

Do you mean an intake pipe, or the intake manifold itself? $60-$70 is nothing to brag about for a pipe, but for an actual manifold, that's another story. Of course, an intake manifold is only worthwhile if it produces gains. Welding up some sheet metal, pipes with injector bosses, and a flange won't necessarily create more power.

You'd be better off going with an H23 intake manifold unless your buddy is one hell of an engineer with a dyno in his garage.

I am thinking he is talking about the DIY link on the metal tubing. because he said Lowes and Autozone...Lowes carries cheap meatl tubing and autozone carries generic cone filters

@ your typo... Looks like you said "cheap meat tubing"

Anyway, yeah.. $60+ for that is absolutely idiotic... I mean, you're looking at $25 tops for all of that, and if you're getting cheap tubing, it's just better to use the stock plastic!

$60-$70 for a fabricated manifold is impressive... but again, worthless if it's not properly engineered.

hahahaha just got back from track...kinda tired. Oh man. But if that guy followed that DIY prefectly, he'd have to cut that one "heat shield" type fromt he sheet metal...which he could charge an extra 40 bux for I suppose.

If you want a Cold Air Intake, just buy one on Ebay. They go for under $40.00 shipped with an OK air filter. Short ram is even cheaper.

We should probably wait to see exactly what he's referring to before we continue telling him the same thing a million times over.

now now im not paying him for anything. he said he'd help. i was referring to intake piping, like a home made short ram/cold air kinda thing.

the diy thread link is definitely helpful. im gonna see what i can come up with off ebay and or from autozone and go from there.

yeah like it's been said ten thousand times before in this thread already, ebay piping and couplers, and get a nice K&N or AEM filter to put on it. It will beat any home made short ram you can make for that money
